Publisher's summary

Since she was a little girl, Emma Grant has always loved romance. So it's really no surprise that she has found her calling as a wedding florist at Vows. She gets to play with flowers every day and work with her three best friends in the process. She couldn't ask for a better job....

And on the surface, Emma's love life seems to be thriving. Slim and sultry, she brings color into every room she enters, just like the arrangements she creates. Though men swarm around her, she still hasn't found Mr. Right. And the last place she's looking is right under her nose.

But that's just where Jack Cooke is. He's so close to the women of Vows that he's practically family. But the architect has begun to admit to himself that his feelings for Emma have developed into much more than friendship. And when Emma returns his passion - kiss for blistering kiss - things start to get complicated at Vows.

Jack has never been big on commitment, though, while Emma yearns for a lifelong love affair. If the two are to find common ground, they must trust in their history - and in their hearts.

Fun!!

As the daughter of a architect, I thought Jack was very believable and Emma is so sweet that they made a really cute couple.

Fluff and stuff

It feels like the book was just a filler to make Her Quartet a reality

Bed of Roses

Big fan of Audible and Nora Roberts! Could barely finish this book. Think Nora phoned it in, and the reader, while having a lovely voice, definitely wasn't the right voice for this book.

Reader from Hell

I didn't get past Emma walking from the guest house to the main house before I removed the book from my iPod. I was so looking forward to the second book in the "Vision in White" series. I will be reading this book, not listening, unless they rerecord with a new reader.

I listened it to the end!!!

I wanted my wife to check if she likes audiobooks and bought this book for her with absolutely no intention to read it. I suspected that it would be "cheesy" love story. At some point, I decided to be brave and try something new. I listened the whole book, believe it or not!!! It was not as boring as I predicted and in fact, I enjoyed narration a lot. I must admit that something in this book make you feel relaxed and happy. But true fans of Nora Roberts would probably tear me to pieces if they would see my nose wrinkle in sarcastic smile while listening this cheesy phoney story. Male's behaviour is so outrageously phoney that it make me suspect that the author intentionally created grotesque out of them. I am probably the only male in this universe who managed to listen Nora Robert's book till the end:). I believe if I would have two X chromosomes, I would probably give 5 stars to this story:).

Reading the 2nd of 4 realized 4 of the same.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The story in each book was too similar and predicable. Will not be reading any more by this author.

What could Nora Roberts have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

changed up the story - stronger character development to run through the sequels - more surprises - not so easy to predict

What didn’t you like about Angela Dawe’s performance?

the performance of the reader was fine, no problem there

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Bed of Roses?

limit to the 1st book and don't bother with 2-4

Nothing Special

I listened to this book as the second in a series of four books. As with the first, it wasn't bad but just didn't have much substance. Bed of Roses certainly doesn't have Nora Roberts usual flair and exciting plot. The characters were likable but there was no meat to the story and when it ended I was left feeling like I wasn't finished. Nora Roberts is one of my favorite authors but this quartet of books just hasn't impressed me.

Predictable but an enjoyable read

What did you like best about Bed of Roses? What did you like least?

I feel as if I know these characters, which is the only reason to read this book. The story is just so predictable but you continue to read it as the characters are like long lost friends.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I am not sure, this is just a pure romance series, no twists and turns.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narrator is very professional and consistent

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

probably, just to see who they choose as the characters as I love the characters in this series.
