Julian & Sara
Who’d have guessed that Julian could be kind of a cinnamon roll?! He comes off as such a workaholic jerk. Sara is also a workaholic, but I loved her in book 1, and knew she was a really amazing person.
I did not predict the horribly painful experiences that both of these characters had in their pasts. While Julian’s stemmed from callousness, Sara’s stemmed from egregious bullying and later, underhanded coercion under the guise of friendship and mentorship.
