Really Good Book and Narration

I really enjoy this book. It was long but engaging throughout the story. I highly recommend this book! 👍🏽👍🏽

Fun story with a little bite!

I really loved the storyline.
This story had angst, energy, fear, assurance, love, sex, tenderness, and loyalty.
The narrator was awesome, and i enjoyed the varried accents and voices.

A sexy, heartwarming read!

I don’t seek out bdsm books, but I love shifter books, so I figured I’d give this a try. Wow. Wow! This book has a really unique on shifters. And the bdsm was perfect!

I loved Axel and Baden. So. Much. They were so good for each other. Poor Baden broke my heart. He was so self destructive and prideful. He really needed someone he could trust to protect him from others and himself, and Axel was the perfect dominant for him. The romance took a while to take off. Baden and Axel had to compromise and understand and trust each other, and when they finally got there, it was great!

This book had everything I’ve been looking for in bdsm books. I loved the emphasis on trust, which was so so so important for Baden and Axel to have. The punishments were hard to read and made my heart hurt. I even got teary eyed during the emotional moments I couldn’t have anticipated from a bdsm book.

The werewolf aspects were fascinating and unique. It’s so sad the way wolves are treated. I hope if there are more books in this series, that the anti-pack laws are overturned.

The narration was wonderful. I really hope there will be more books in this series!!

A must try!

Very well done, it was engaging storyline with just the right amount of kink.
The narrator was a good choice, just the right accent for where the story takes place.
I chose this book for the wear factor, and found a new favorite listen in my library.

Not that great DNF

1. Never really felt a connection between Axel and "His Pup". The interactions in the 6 wk trial period left me cold. All the other men the "pup" was with, basically whoring himself out while Axel sat back and watched, nearly put me off the book. There wasn't anything holding them together other than a shared interest in their kink. 2. I got impression that the"pup" was an alpha in his own right, just not as dominant as Axel. However, all through the story he acted like an omega. Timid, stumbling conversation, reluctant to make a stand, unable to verbalize thoughts. I kept hoping it would get better but finally just skipped to the end. I usually like this kind of story (a little bdsm, werewolves, etc), but this was just not good. 3. NARRATION: I thought the narration was very good. Inflection while reading, different voices for each character, very good. My only complaint was pronunciation of different words. I know people in the UK pronounce some words differently than we do in the US. But the narrator sometimes pronounce the same words differently from sentence to sentence. But narration overall was very good

What an amazingly creative and delicately told story by Kim Dare.

And the audiobook--what an amazing performance that served to bring extra depth and nuance to the characters!

It's a long read/listen, but sooooo worth it!

I Loved This Book

I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this story at first, but I am sooo glad that I started listening to it. The characters are fully developed and likable and the world that is written around them is fully realized so it is easy to make a mental image of their surroundings. Throughout the story both of the main characters grow and develop new thoughts and feeling about different situations and ideas which changes how they react to similar situations they reacted to in the beginning of the book. I love how compatible the characters are for each other, it gives you a sense that they were made for each other and meant to be together. I absolutely adored Axel, because unlike a lot of other main characters in these types of stories, he is smart and understanding. He is able to learn and work with Bayden to help him to trust someone and rely on another person. The way that he is able to interpret Baydens actions and his reasons for doing the things he does is masterful. I’m am very happy that I was able to listen to a story written as well as this one. I am definitely going to be reading more books by this author in the future.

Everyone needs an Axel!

I love love love this story. it was sweet and sexy and so good! A little disappointed in the narrator who said Axel's name wrong a couple of times, but was good at doing different voices for the characters.

Dominance and submission from two beautifully unique perspectives

This story was completely different from most wolf shifter stories. The premise is that wolf shifters have been relegated to the lowest of the low caste in human society. No rights, double rent, half pay, ‘no dogs’ signs barring entry to stores and the like. Very similar to African Americans in the south in America’s history. It is subjugation told from a very unique perspective. The other part of the story that is completely unique is how the main character has to find a way to communicate effectively with a wolf shifter, as he has to learn the subtleties of body language, wolf dominance, and not jump to conclusions because he reads a situation from a human perspective. The story is about dominance and submission, but told from two perspectives that sometimes are similar and sometimes not at all alike. This is a long and detailed story that has many beautiful scenes and issues to overcome. Well done BDSM between gay men trying to become lovers for life fill the pages of this book. In the end, there is a gorgeous and quite satisfying end filled with true love.
