Publisher's summary

Photographing ghost towns across the American West, Kadie Andrews takes a wrong turn and ends up in Morgan Creek - a spot that isn’t on the map. It’s a quaint little place, but there’s something off about its complacent residents. And when twilight falls, it takes on a truly sinister air…Unable to run, or to find any way out, Kadie finds herself a prisoner, hunted for her blood. Still more disturbing, her spirit and beauty have captured the attention of master vampire Rylan Saintcrow. When he looks into her eyes, she can see his hunger. When he takes her in his arms, she can feel his power. When he presses his lips against hers, she can taste his need. Saintcrow may be the most compelling creature she’s ever imagined, but Kadie knows in her heart that he is also a man. A man who needs a woman. To want him, desire him, crave him. To be his willing prisoner - for all eternity…

A compelling Vampire love story

From the very first chapter until the bitter-sweet end this moving tale captured me and kept me prisoner along with Kadie as she finds herself a prisoner in Morgan Creek, a unique town filled with Vampires and their captive human donors.

Rylan, the dark, brooding, sexy, handsome Master Vampire, arises after 30 years underground because of the inexplicable pull he feels towards Kadie and claims her as his own but, she's got a strong character and resists his advances and tries everything to escape both him and the town.

Amanda Ashley not only described the town well but manages to capture the feelings of all it's inhabitants, both Vampire and human, and portrays the Vampire lore within the community very well and your heart kinda goes out to both Vampire and humans alike.

But the real magic is in the relationship between Kadie and Rylan as slowly they both begin to understand each other, have compassion for one-another and love blooms as Kadie is finally his willing prisoner. However, Rylan wants a partner not a prisoner but is equally captured by her too and moves heaven and earth to please and spoil her until finally he makes the ultimate bold sacrifice. There is action, suspense, tension, murder, betrayals, mysteries, some twists however their relationship is all consuming and there's a heartfelt passion and tenderness but alas only very mild sex scenes (damn!!).

Worth a credit? This enjoyable listen has thankfully restored my faith in AA's books so it was a definite YES (but a little hotter next time please).

Vampire lust

I could not put this book down, it kept me on the edge of my seat most of the time even though I figured the plot out pretty early. The characters were surprising but I’m not gonna tell you anymore than that. If you enjoy vampire books with Love and hate, and a little different than most V books you will enjoy this one

Just ok

This book was a struggle to get through. The characters were boring and unimaginative. And the author used the word "predernatural" to describe the main vampire so many times it was almost comical.
