wayward,wayward,wayward,wayward

What would have made As Rich as a Rogue better?

The author using any other word but "wayward". It was so over used, it became silly. Like the first book, where "cricket princess" was the repeated phrase, in this one the author chose "wayward". I don't understand why she thinks this is cute It is just bad writing and a very lazy style..

What do you think your next listen will be?

I never understand this question. Audible should really get rid of it or think of something more applicable to a book review. I don't have a thought about another book...I'm reviewing this one!

What didn’t you like about Elizabeth Bidwell’s performance?

It was a little stilted , but she could not really do anything with sucha bad plot.
She made the heroine sound pompous, but maybe that was the story.

What character would you cut from As Rich as a Rogue?

All the weird butlers. I have never read a book where everyone's butler is a little off.
I was just so bored that I don't really care who was in or out of the book.

Any additional comments?

I didn't understand the plot. The hero is a wealthy ( or we think so), handsome, smart, exciting, accepting of the heroine and funny. She is attracted to him. He proposes at the 4.5 hour mark..then there is another 7.5 hours to kill. I don't understand why the heroine did not jump at the chance to marry him. She is in her 6th season and really wants to marry.
The hero also makes a friend of her father, so no objections. I could not even find the spark of chemistry between the h/h and am bored at the half way point. I am giving up and DNF.
