Publisher's Summary

When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer's Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

Beautiful Story 💝

I got this one during a recent sale and after listening I have to admit that the great reviews were absolutely correct. This book hits you emotionally especially if you've ever been teased, bullied, or just felt inadequate in some way. This is a story that builds layers of emotions.......it tugs at your heartstrings.....makes you smile.....and leaves you fulfilled. I enjoyed the journey of love with Archer & Bree and didn't want it to end.

Note: FYI- There are descriptive sex scenes and some swearing. For those who only like "clean reads" you might want to give this one a try. Just forward thru those scenes and the story would be just as good.

I highly recommend this book and I am putting on my repeat list.

This book should be a movie

I absolutely loved this book. I hated for it to end.
I listened from start to finish in one day.
The characters really suck you in.
I couldn't wait to hear what they would do next.
I got this book on sale but it's worth a credit.
I mostly listen to exotic romance and didn't think this book would have any steam.... boy I was wrong.
Both narrator's did a fantastic job to bring the characters to life.
This book had so many emotional layers to it.
One minute it's sad, then funny, then it's, no he didn't just turn into an ass to, ohhh my goodness that's hot.. and Ohh how sweet!
you really want a HEA ending.
And if you wondering.. did they got their HEA ending?
you'll have to listen to find out.

MY FAMILY GAVE UP TRYING TO COMMUNICATE WITH ME

What a beautiful, heartbreaking and well written love story this was, I laughed, I cried and I sighed as the H/H fought to stay together through the dramas, through their inner demons and turmoils and whatever else fate through at them. The personal growth and character development was touching to witness. This is a listen whose characters were so likeable I just didn't ever want to say goodbye to them and it's held in a town I'd love to move to.

Worth a credit? Dual POV's, great narration and a captivating very romantic and touching plot added up to an absolutely awesome listen that was well worth a credit and I've pre-ordered ALL other books available by this very gifted Author Mia Sheridan.

Don't Pass This One Up!!!!!

What did you love best about Archer's Voice?

Archer's Voice is being added to my fairly short list of favorite books and I definitely see myself reading it again from time to time. It is a sweet yet hot romance between two of the best written characters I've ever read. I love that I didn't find the story predictable. There were several times where I'd think I would know what was going to happen but, for the most part, I was wrong. There is only minimal action with the majority of the book focusing on character devleopment. Instead of relying on sometimes over-the-top scenes of action and danger which are too often present in romance novels, there is a slow brew of family secrets and melodrama.

What did you like best about this story?

The character of Archer is exceptionally well written with the author slowly but surely revealing the many layers that make up this man. Archer and Bree's love story is believable and develops somewhat slowly. This is a nice change of pace from many books that have the couple in bed in the first few chapters.

Have you listened to any of Kris Koscheski and Emily Durante ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is only the second audio book I've listened to that has both a male and female narrator. I really enjoyed Archer and Bree having different voices. Both narrators did a great job!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

YES! I'm not typically one to cry easily. I cried several times during this story and found myself feeling happiness, sadness, lonliness, and anger. There was a point where I was so emotional that I was about to stop listening and leave a bad review. Luckily, I didn't let my emotions get the better of me and was able to calm down and see where the author was taking the story.

Any additional comments?

I'm somewhat confused about Archer's Voice being grouped with erotica. There were definitely some steamy sex scenes but nothing was over-the-top and, frankly, I've read much more graphic descriptions in "typical" romance novels. In fact, not every sex scene is even elaborated on. The steamy scenes are peppered throughout the story so you don't feel as if you're just reading random filler between bouts of sex. Bree and Archer's romance and love was the driving force of the sex, not the other way around.

Awesome

If you could sum up Archer's Voice in three words, what would they be?

Totally awesome book

Who was your favorite character and why?

Archer, because thru all he has been thru he found himself and the meaning of love.

Which character – as performed by Kris Koscheski and Emily Durante – was your favorite?

Archer, because he made me realize you didn't have to have a voice, to speak.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No not really, just the book as a whole.

Any additional comments?

Would recommend, can't wait to listen to more of this author

Where does Archer's Voice rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is the best book I've listened to yet and I've listened to a lot!

What did you like best about this story?

The story was so well written... There's nothing I would suggest the author doing differently. There was love, humor and heartbreak in one novel. And I didn't have to listen to a trilogy to be satisfied with the story.

What does Kris Koscheski and Emily Durante bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Kris and Emily did an amazing job. They both brought Archer's Voice to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both... I cried and laughed with the characters. The truck back firing was so real life. LOL!!!

Just OK For Me

I am in really the minority here as most people loved this book. For me the story is okay, but the writing is very flat and I don't think I'll be recommending the book to anyone.

The characters are one-dimensional and cliched, such as the plot moppet of a dog, the kind widow next door, and the horrible, mean, "wicked witch" style woman who owns the town; the setting is a banal Mayberry-ish small town with overly friendly strangers who tell the new girl in town everything she needs to know exactly when she needs to know it. So much of the conflict is not deeply explored and then resolved too quickly and easily.

In general, there's quite a bit of "telling" in this story where it could be so much stronger by "showing" instead - many reactions and thoughts are weakened with phrasing like "for some reason" or "intuition" or "something didn't feel right" rather than providing the little clues that add up to *why* things don't seem right. I found myself thinking every five minutes "oh please...really?". Everything was easy, a man who didn't interact for ten years with a soul, found a girl and in five minutes everything was fabulous, the drama was always resolved in no time and everything was too mushy. But maybe it was simply not my cup of tea!

Male voice was ok, female voice not good.

Good

This is a romance which is slightly different and gently written. The narration was very good. It's the first time that I've tried the combination of listening and reading, but it works.

Light Chic Lit - Definitely Not Erotica

What did you like best about Archer's Voice? What did you like least?

Didn't connect with the voice of Archer as performed by either of the narrators. Voice was too light and effeminate; combined with the character created by Sheridan, I couldn't get past Archer being a bit poonsey.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Enjoyed the 'love finds a way' through adversity theme but was challenged somewhat by the weak/soft profile of the male lead.

Would you be willing to try another one of Kris Koscheski and Emily Durante ’s performances?

Whilst I wasn't over the moon about their performance in this book, I'm open to listening to them narrate other characters.

Any additional comments?

Influenced by strong listener reviews, I set a high benchmark and was a little disappointed when the story didn't live up to expectations. It was a "nice" light read for a chic lit title but I definitely wouldn't categorise it as erotic fiction.

Enjoyable story

Would you listen to Archer's Voice again? Why?

Not sure the story line was 95% but the last few chapters seemed rushed???

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Story line and concept

What does Kris Koscheski and Emily Durante bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Good performance

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Little crying involved along with anger to the township.

Any additional comments?
