Publisher's summary

Angels are falling from the sky in New York, struck down by a vicious, unknown force. Vampires are dying impossibly of disease. Guild hunter Elena Deveraux and the Archangel Raphael must discover the source of the wave of death before it engulfs their city and their people, leaving New York in ruin and Raphael's Tower under siege by enemy archangels. Yet even as they fight desperately to save the city, an even darker force is stirring, its chill eyes trained on New York . . . and on Raphael.

Soooo good!

Man, this was sooo good. I read the reviews and alot of people are saying this was not as good as the other books... Are we listening to the same book here? This was amazing... Raphel and his Consort are the bomb!

I really want Raphel's mom to get into the action... I bet she is super strong now, especially since she isn't crazy anymore...

We all know Raphel is the only angel born of two Arch Angels and now he is a Arch Angel and a member of the Cadre... so up... Raphel gonna be a force to recon with.

This book answered alot of question left unanswered from the previous books... without add more questions into the (What the heck is going on) mix...

On to the next book.. Please let us get to see that Legion in action.. I hope some one of them become apart of the 7. And Elana has her own Guard now... Crazy... that is awesome...

This series just gets better and better... More sophicated and detailed in its plot twist and turns. AWESOME.

Narration was great, simply great... Justine Eyre is one of the best.

Great Credit... or Sale... I would only buy if you have the other books in the series..then yes well worth the buy... b/c this book is pretty pricey.

I JUST DIDN'T WANT TO HIT THE 'PAUSE' BUTTON

Nalini Singh has really outdone herself with this latest addition to her fantastic Guild Hunter series as she skilfully choreographs both the various plots and all the richly described characters in her very descriptive multi-layered world of the Archangels so you too are drawn into the story and feel part of all the intense action.

As the threats increase, and it looks like War is inevitable, it brings a whole new level to Raphael and Elena's relationship as they are united lovers who are devoted to each other and gain strength from one another which leads to some passionate, touching, tender, sensual, sexy, romantic and an intense sharing of their feelings for one another. As Elena's role as Consort is evolving she also has family dramas and old wounds that are haunting her and Raphael is also evolving but she has to hold on tight to him otherwise she may lose him.

Lijuan's is proving a deadly enemy and her vicious attacks on New York and Raphael are evil and lead to the ultimate fraught, danger-filled, mighty battle in the skies above Archangel Tower where all his Angels, Vampires, Hunters and Archangels are sadly outnumbered by 5 to 1. They all valiantly fight but slowly fall and without a miracle all, sadly, will be lost.

Worth a credit? It's a captivating, well-written, complex, emotional, suspense filled, epic paranormal story that's got a strong Hero and Heroine fighting for their love and their lives so, to ask a mere credit for all this, is an absolute bargain. I read the words 'Archangel' and 'Nalini Singh' and I don't need to read further before it's in my basket - but this is not a stand alone listen and, for any paranormal romance lovers who haven't yet discovered this fantastic, enjoyable, entertaining, emotional series then I humbly suggest you download book 1 now and happily go on from there.

Not as interesting as the other books

Ok. I admit I was so excited the next book in the series was out that I did not look to see if a new love was to be introduced in this book. Well it was not. The story is somewhat interesting but I love romance and this is just about the same two main characters. I’ve finished about ¾ of the first half and am having a very difficult time listening to more so I stopped torturing myself and started a new book. I loved all the books in the series to this point but am just not interested to revisit the same love story with a new mystery plot around it. Not my cup of tea.

Great addition to the series!! Loved it! :D

5 stars

I loved this book. This is a great series and this was a super addition to it. Raphael and Elena are wonderful together and my only disappointment in the book was that it had to end! I hope Singh gets the next book in the series out soon!

Raphael and Elena face many issues during this book. Raphael's mother throws a ball, which Raphael and Elena pretty much have to attend. This wouldn't be such a bad thing except that strange occurrences have started taking place around Raphael's territory that seems to indicate that another Archangel may be using a new power to soften Raphael's territory up before attacking. After a couple of such instances it becomes even more sure and Raphael and his people try to figure out who is doing what. Raphael also seeks to make some alliances that may help.

During these issues, it appears that Raphael is also evolving and gaining some new power. The problem is that the new power doesn't seem to be all good as it seems to be trying to take him over, making him remote and cold (both emotionally and physically) when it tries to take hold. Elena tries to do what she can to keep Raphael sane and with her, not corrupted by this new power. Although Raphael realizes the power may not be good for him, part of him wants to keep it because he needs more power to keep his people safe. Regardless of this, he's unable to retain it and fears not being strong enough when the threat to them becomes known. When a declaration of war comes, Raphael knows he has no more time and they have to try to defend their lands with what they have. Unfortunately, when the attack comes, they face much larger numbers than they expected and steps have been made to keep Raphael's allies out of the fight. The situation doesn't look good but works out with help from a very unexpected source, leaving them safe and the fighting ended. It seems likely that they'll have more danger to face in the future but things look hopeful.

Singh did a great job with the action part of the plot and the non-action part of the plot was just as good. Raphael and Elena get even closer in this story and I loved seeing their bond tighten. Raphael loves and cherishes Elena and she does the same for him. She's unwilling to let him face anything alone (even though he's a big, bad Archangel) when she can help him with it and she's a great help to him as he struggles to understand and deal with the new powers seeking to inhabit him. He helps her as well as she deals with family issues and other assorted things that come up. Raphael and Elena are great together and I loved how their love ends up being the key to their salvation. Elena's always so worried about how loving her might weaken Raphael and now we start to see just how much of a strength that love actually is. I loved Raphael and Elena and can't wait to see where their story goes as the series continues.

This was a great book that I loved to read. Such a great plot and wonderful characters, even the secondary characters are full bodied and add depth to the story that makes it even better. I wish the next book in the series was already out because I can't wait to see what happens next. I'd highly recommend this story. 2 thumbs up! :D

If you've been enjoying this series, like I have, then of course your gonna love it. If you haven't had the pleasure, then get book 1-6, and enjoy those angels and vampires. This is a very good series. It's not a average listen. It's entertaining and the next book is aways an automatic purchase. It has everything from your paranormal to your hot smexy bits. Enjoy!!

BEST BOOK EVER!!!!!!!

What did you love best about Archangel's Legion?

Everything!!!!!!! It was suspenseful and romantic and very passionate, especially for what I expected from Raphael and Elena. Nalini Singh out did herself.

Have you listened to any of Justine Eyre’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Her narration was amazing, I loved every minute of it. Especially Raphael's voice ;)

Any additional comments?

SO WORTH IT!!!!! I really hope the next book is about these two.

Lacking Installment to Great Series

I really wanted to love this installment but it was a huge disappointment. If you have not read the rest of the series, do not attempt this as a stand-alone. It brings together a lot of previous plots and subplots without explanation. For those that have kept up with the series - the mommy issues continue, predictable alliances solidify, the big bad 'reborn' plot continues, and it all comes together with a 'cascading' (hint hint) effect. I know that sounds engaging, but I would have preferred the last 3 chapters as a novella and cut out the rest of the superfluous clutter that near bored me to tears. Just saying. The best thing this audiobook had going for it was the narrator.

Great book - bad performance

Where does Archangel's Legion rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

lowest

How could the performance have been better?

get a different narrator

Any additional comments?

I love this book. It's my favorite of the entire series which is why I was excited to buy the audio. The narrators rendition of Elena the main character was whiny. Gratingly whiny. Even when yelling "Fire in the hole" and "This is my city" during the battle it was damn whiny. Most of the characters had the same inflection, there was no real emotion put into the performance other than whiny.
I'm afraid I won't be buying another audio for this series because I just couldn't stand the voices. Towards the end I just wanted it TO end. Again, this is a wicked awesome series totally buy the books but the narrator I'm afraid ruined the audio for me. I'll stick with the books & my own rendition of the voices. Totally returned this audio.
