Very enjoyable

Great story. Really great plot. You’re gonna fall in love with the characters. All of them. I just wish the ending would have extended back to them in Sunshine.

One of my favorite series

Animal Attraction is the second book in Jill Shalvis' Animal Magnetism series and in it, we get to get up close and personal with the oh so hot veterinarian Dell Connelly. We got to meet Dell and his handsome broody brother Adam in book one, Animal Magnetism, and I couldn't wait to read his and Jade's story. Dell is quite the player and is somewhat of a man-whore. The only woman who isn't falling at his feet, however, is his receptionist, Jade Bennett. There is definitely chemistry between the two, much they try to ignore it. Jade has a past that has left her vulnerable and caused her to leave her old life behind, ending up in beautiful Sunshine Idaho. Her past has also kept her from letting anyone get too close to her as well. Dell sees a lot more than she is aware of, and is determined to help her heal. Dell also has issues from his past that have caused him to have commitment phobia, but Jade can also see past his disguises as well. Try as they may, they can't avoid the inevitable and things get hot and heavy between them, and not only physically. Their feelings run deep, but when push comes to shove, will Dell have the guts to hold onto this woman who has captured his heart, and if he does, will Jade have the guts to let him have it?

I loved Dell''s character. He's such a great guy, despite his man-whorish past. I also love the relationship he has with his brothers. Of course there is the fact that he is a total hottie who will cause you to melt in a puddle with his smile. You also get to see plenty of Brady and Lila, who were in the first novel, and then there is Adam, and I think he is going to wind up being my favorite by the time I read his story, which is next in the series. While this is a series, each book can easily be read as a standalone, though after reading one, you'll want to devour the rest of the series. Animal Attraction is an awesome contemporary romance that will capture your attention and your heart and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Not on par with the first in the series

The first book in the series, "Animal Magnetism", was MUCH better than this second book. This book's leading characters, Dell and Jade, were both more interesting as secondary characters in the first book. They are not nearly as cute in this book...and the abundance of playful scenes that made the secondary characters so much fun in the first book are missing in this book.

In my review of the first book I wrote, "The three lead male characters also expose a lot about each other in the way they tease each other. The nicknames they assign to each other, the way one will respond to being teased by the others. We learn a lot about the characters by the way they joke with each other." The teasing and the nicknames were almost completely abandoned. Brady appears hardly at all in this book...and Dell's interaction with Adam does not add much to our understanding of either character.

Karen White's narration is annoying and distracting. She is so busy being breathy and trying to make the sex scenes sound exciting that she forgets to actually read. The love play would be much more natural and exciting if she would just stop gasping and read!

Just a Three

I thought it was just okay, a bit silly. I don't think there was enough substance to it. I am hesitant to get the next in the series, but read the reviews of Book 5 and folks think it's the best in the series. Going to think on it before I use my credit,

Karen White was good as usual.

I just really, really like this story.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this story and a huge part of the credit goes to the wonderful narrator, Karen White.

Fun and steamy

I’ve been looking forward to Jade and Dell's story since the first book teased it and Animal Attraction didn't disappoint. With Jade’s impending departure, they finally acted on their attraction and the result was some steamy sexy times.

I like most of the human and animal characters in this story although the cat stereotype was quite strong here. I also like all the self-defense instructions.

I don't like the negative portrayal of Native Americans and it took me a while to adjust to the narrator's breathy voice.

This one surprised me!!!

If your looking for a good love story this is the one for you. This is a straight forward love story, no vamps, wolves, or changlings. Just a good honest love story with alot of fun and a strong cast of supporting characters. Its hard to find a good book while waiting for my favorite authors to put out something new, but this is a good book. If you don't like love stories, then this is not the book for you.

slow story, lethargic narrator

Another narrator may have kept the story going for me -this one had a 'sad and sorry' tone most of the time -no man other than a shrink would be interested in a young woman who carried that dispostion around most of the time - so I don't think it was appropriate for the story!
