Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Lynsay Sands returns with the unforgettable story of a reluctant bride and groom who soon find common ground in the bedroom....

Bastard daughter to the king, Rosamunde was raised in a convent and wholly prepared to take the veil...until King Henry declared she would wed Aric, one of his most valiant knights. Suddenly she found herself promising to love, honor, and obey.

Rosamunde's education had not covered a wedding night, but the handsome warrior she was now bound to seemed intent on giving her a lesson in the art of pleasure. In no time, Aric was certain, she would surrender to the irresistible passion he promised.

And while Rosamunde's spirited nature often put her at odds with her new husband, his mastery in seduction was quickly melting her resolve - and capturing her heart.

Funny, laugh out loud

A wild tale. A true fiction but very amusing and funny . The narrator was horrible. Wonderful in the female. Horrible as a male. Good heavens. I have a real issue with there is no distinction between a male and female, even secondary male characters was undistinguishable. The book was amusing for me. I suffered thru the narration because of the humor

I Love Lynsay Sands' historical books.

This story was a little wordy in some areas and with a 'modern' word or expression here and there.
BUT!
I have to say though, regardless of the above comment, it is an exceptional read.
For the 'Historical Puritans', this may be off putting to you, but with a few 'tug at the heart strings moments' and several LOL moments, I really enjoyed it and it will go in my 'To Be Read Again' library, along with all my other L.S. historical books.
India Baldwin did a great narration.
Well worth the credit!

Very sweet story

This book was good and had a lot of twists and turns which kept you involved with the characters. I would recommend it as an easy listening story.

Not my favorite

I usually really enjoy Lynsay Sands stories but this one was disappointing. The endless nativity of the lead female over and over and the control and obey me attitude of the lead male for most of the story was frustrating and lasted far to long. I kept wishing it would change. it doesn't however deter my desire to listen to other books by Lynsay.

Belly laughter vs intrigue

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Oh yes, this was a well written book that infused the comedy of life with intrigue and mystery. Although, I had a couple of ideas who the villian would be, it was almost to the end of the book before it became absolutely clear.

Which character – as performed by India Baldwin – was your favorite?

It was a tie between Aric and Rosamunde. You could imagine their emotions and frustrations all through the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I had a hard time finding a good spot to stop reading. There was a little annoyance with how over the top the story line was with Rosamunde's interest in veterinary medicine.

Any additional comments?

The story pulled me in right from the start. I really laughed out loud so many times, but especially at the beginning. The naitivity of Rosamunde was depicted so well, and so matter of factly. Loved it!

Umm, not Lynsay's best..

I have bought and listened to many of Lyndsay Sands audio books, I've given all of her other books five out of five stars. With this book, I was very disappointed with the male love interest, who never really became likable throughout the entire story line in my opinion. The storyline itself was lacking, the plot didn't thicken until there was about one hour left in the book.
As someone who truly loves every other book Lyndsay Sands has written, I will still be buying them, and reading them with enthusiasm.

love it, most memorable part when the marriage was suppose to be in the marriage bed she was on all four like a cow and told him to put his cucumber . I couldn't stop laughing because the num told her it was what the bull and cow did.

good fun !

good solid romance story than doesn't go over the top with romance mush, but has a lot of good humor. the lead characters are engaging and the performance is good so that you forget that all the voices are done by the same performer.

Great story, okay performance

The story was really good, another imaginative and well fleshed out tale from Ms Sands. The performance was okay; some words were incomprehensible though which slightly annoyed me, but it was a solid effort from the artist anyway.
