Publisher's summary

Josie DuKane is on shaky ground. Having narrowly escaped the notorious Bride Killer, she penned a tell-all memoir that dug up a town's dark past. Now the book is being made into a movie, and Josie must visit the very place that will trigger an avalanche of unwanted memories - Graveyard Falls. On the heels of her arrival, she receives a gruesome photograph of a dead woman with talon marks carved into her face. And worse, Josie just might be the next victim.

Torn between guilt, justice, and revenge, Special Agent Dane Hamrick will do anything to find the man who brutally murdered his sister. When he realizes the recent tragedies in Graveyard Falls bear an uncanny resemblance to her death, he volunteers to spearhead the investigation. But doing so means teaming up with Josie.

Nothing prepares him for the feelings the beautiful, tough woman evokes. As the body count rises and the suspect pool widens, Josie and Dane must put aside their growing attraction to run down the killer who devastated both their lives.

A killer who seems determined to destroy all the pretty faces....

Another great romantic suspense

The second in the graveyard falls series. Both book one and this second book were great. Well written characters that have both suffered trauma and end up together. The story is both horrifying and scary. Keeps you suspended till the end. Great narrative done with the audible version.
Highly recommend this series. Now on to book three in the series.
Thank you to the author for the hours of listening enjoyment. Aloha .

Good Story!

Intriguing and spell-binding! The narrator was distracting for me because he sounded more like a news or radio announcer than a storyteller.

Just OK

Not sure if I'll read the rest of the series... the lead male seems totally unfocused, just throws accusations at anyone and everyone... no logic, yes he should be emotionally attached to the case... but it's over the top. The lead female seems wish you washy where she was stronger in the last book... which was also just meh... the police chief is treated like a minor character just muddling along and we are hardly introduced to the next main character so I really have no pull to read that story... also the writer nor the editor obviously have any clue as to what southern weather/storms or storm warnings are like, factually incorrect.

Great

THIS REVIEW IS FOR BOTH THE AUDIOBOOK AND EBOOK VERSIONS
Interesting story and characters. The narrator did a wonderful job with the individual characters. The story was emotional and some scenes were intense. I would recommend this book.

meh

It was read well.
But the book was so full of cliches and moments where I rolled my eyes. the story was rushed. I listened to the first book and really liked it. I won't buy the next one.

Great book!

Narrator did a great job and he's easy to listen to. story line was good and flowed well. my only complaint would be the chapter of sex between the 2 characters, I was beginning to think I was reading some raunchy romance book. But overall enjoyed this book.

Good mystery..

This was a pretty good story but I think Ms. Herron lost track of what she’d written because she repeated several things more than once. Not enough to take away from the story but it was a little annoying. Also, I listened to this book as I read along and Eric Dove, the narrator, read the word HOSPITAL 11 times and he said just that word. BUT in the book ALL 11 times it was spelled HOSPITALIC. That’s not even in the dictionary.

The fun part of the story was that you didn’t know who the heck the killer was. One minute you just knew it was Grimley, then it was Easton, then it was Yonkers, then it was McCray, then it was Baines. It was nice trying to figure out who the killer was. I was hoping the book didn’t tell me or I didn’t figure it out until near the end. It was at 90% that the killer was identified and I had a sneaky suspicion as to who it was.

An all-around good story with explicit sex and some swearing and the F-bomb was used 16 times.

As to the narrator: Eric Dove gets better all the time. His men sound sexy and the women sound like women. But the two most important things to me when it comes to narrating is when a book calls for a whisper or a laugh, and Eric does both. He also sighs, grumbles and you can hear his voice crack with emotion. He's just awesome.
