Publisher's summary

I'm Matt Hadder. I've been called ruthless, savage - even brutal - by the men and women who work for me. And I've earned my reputation. Wonderland Inc., a party planning organization for every major player in the world, is Oz, and I'm its Wizard. I can make anything - drugs, prostitutes, deals - appear for a night and disappear just as quickly. This doesn't make me good or bad - it makes me essential.

Wonderland Inc. was my life, until a beautiful contradiction of innocence and impurity, obedience and rebelliousness named Alex Little stepped in and turned both of our worlds upside down. Welcome to Wonderland, Alex. A place where everything appears normal. But we're all mad.

Great Reimagining...

This was a very enjoyable take on Alice in Wonderland. I can honestly say I liked this more. I loved the world and the characters. The story was intriguing, the characters were very likeable and there was some growth throughout the story. The narration was excellent. I definitely recommend this one.

Wow!!

What a wild ride! Love, intrigue, and adventure! Absolutely loved this book! There were fun parallels (obviously) to Alice in Wonderland, and it was a good time picking them out. But more importantly the love story and the hot sex were pretty great. The narrators were, as always with Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden, amazing and added to how great the experience was! Highly recommend!

Fantastic twisted Alice In Wonderland

I knew nothing about this book before diving in. The power duo of the narrators and the cover convinced me to give this twisted fairytale a listen, and I’m glad I did! It’s fun, mafia-adjacent, has a possessive main male character and a whimsical-yet-smart female main character that can con you but also hold full conversations with her pet cat (relatable, right?) So yeah. It’s a good listen.

Mmmm unsure? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Not the worst book ever but for sure not the best. Kinda silly. Everyone be quirking their eyebrows; sometimes just ONE sentence separating.
Not enough angst
No lovey dovey feelings
But I finished it
Love Maxine Mitchell with all my heart! Favorite narrator ever
Joe is great with her

Very Enjoyable listen

I very much enjoyed this audio book. From the clever character names to the dramatic storyline, the story sucked me in. A lot of retold fairytales are very cheesy and too close to the original, I liked that this book was very much NOT a cheesy parody of the original Alice in Wonderland. I do have to warn listener's of some crude language, but that didn't bother me too much. lol (wink)

Love Wonderland!

Truly love this book. I love how the alpha male, who is gruff to everyone but Alex. That is the way really love should be. The dynamics between Alex and Matt is super HOT!

Wonderland, Inc.

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌎
Character development: ☺️😉😀😘🥰

The heroine: Alex Little - She needs money and she recently got fired from her job as a bartender, so she got a job to play a bunny for a kids birthday party for Princess Party Productions. The white rabbit costume came with a note that said “Wear Me”.

The Hero: Matt Hadder - He lost his mother at a young age and inherited his father’s empire called Wonderland, Inc. A party planning organization that caters to the movers and shakers of the world. The company has been compared to the mafia. They keep the media and law enforcement in their back pocket and Matt uses them when necessary. He also use the money hungry’s greed to his advantage. Drugs and prostitution are used, but as a means to entertain the wealthy. They use tax loopholes of moving money through other countries as a boon to their bottom line and that of their clients.

The Story: Matt only trusts his security advisor Cal Monarch. He feels there is turmoil under him. He stays on top of it all, he fixes too many other peoples problems to not be aware of his own. When Alex ends up at the same party as Matt and potentially overhears some confidential information and sees her pick someone’s pocket, Matt decides to hire her to keep an eye on her. He was attracted to her and didn’t mind keeping both his eyes on her.

The book is told in dual points of view via dual narration. The narration was done by Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden. They are both great narrators. I love Joe’s sexy gravelly voice and Maxine has an intelligent sounding voice with a sarcastic slant.

I liked both of these characters and this was a very cool retelling of Alice in Wonderland. There were many references to things from the Alice in Wonderland story, but it was all just peripheral stuff and this was still a very original story. The names were great (Harrison “Hare” March, Eric Queen, Matt Hadder, etc…) and the fact that Alex kept finding playing cards in the most innocuous places.

I loved the romance between Alex and Matt and the fact that Matt was this 6’6” muscular alpha male bad boy and he called her “Little One”. Matt wanted to protect Alex at times but was often proud of the way she reacted to situations and how she handled herself. This book was super steamy and had some great supporting characters as well. I find myself wishing this wasn’t a standalone and that we would get Cal’s story as well. I really liked this world.
