Publisher's summary

The sisters of Sea Haven, bound by the heart and the magical power of the elements, return in this soul-stirring new novel from Christine Feehan, number one New York Times best-selling author of Spirit Bound....

For as far back as she can remember, Airiana Ridell has always been aware of her extraordinary gift. She can intuit revealing and illuminating "patterns" in the air around her - whether in a spray of mist, in billowing clouds, or in the dense swirls of an impenetrable fog. Her abilities led to her placement in a secret government training facility when she was a child, but everything changed after her mother was murdered.

Airiana fled the program, but she couldn’t outrun the desperate members of a shadowy cabal who want her, who need her, who will kill to get her. Kidnapped and held aboard a ship bound for dangerous seas, her only chance for rescue is Maxim Prakenskii. He has his reasons for helping her, but he isn’t about to reveal them to Airiana. Not yet. Not as the two are drawn together as moth to flame. Not when there are so many secrets yet untold that could shatter the quaint community of Sea Haven and all who reside there....

Exciting addition to an intriguing series

Story is excellent - an adventure away from Sea Haven. Ariana's father is quite a revelation. Maximum Prakinski is an excellent hero full of angst. Plenty of villains and heroes. The only thing I did not like is the misprounouncement of previous names in the series. This is a major distraction and annoyance for me. Levi Prakenski's name is alway different from Water Bound and every time it threw me out of the story. Same thing happens in Laurell K. Hamilton's Merry Gentry series. Narrators should always listen to previous books in a series to correct this flaw.

Overall pretty standard and a decent story

The story is not bad, although the heroes character arch feels a little rushed to me. The issues I had were to do with the choice of narrator. Phil has a great voice. Just not for feminine voices. And the persistent mispronunciation of Levi almost made it too frustrating to listen to the whole book. Just my two cents.

great book pronunciation of 1 name drove me crazy

book is great, but I knew that going in since I own a hard copy as well. the only downside was the narrator pronouncing "Levi" as "Lay'vee" rather than the "Leev-eye." If you're accustomed to the alternative pronunciation it won't bother you a bit, but being used to the American pronunciation it made me a bit crazy every time I heard it since it sounds so wrong to me.

Story great

Love all Christine books. But didn't like the narrator. If the next book in the series is read by him I will not buy.

Bad Narration

I love Christine Feehan!! This book was great however I did not like when the narrator would try to sound like a female. For some reason that part just made me laugh.

good read

I enjoyed the book. Christine Feehan is one of my favorite authors. the voice changes were a bit distracting.
the biggest distraction was that names fro. previous books were pronounced differently which threw of the balance of the book.

Great Story, Horrible reader

I have to agree with the other reviews. I Love Christine's books, but I hope she never has this reader again. He was difficult to listen to and irritating that he couldn't or wouldn't pronounce Levi's name correctly.

Air Bound

Airianna is a super intelligent young woman that everyone is after. Most are after her brains but Maxim Prakenskii wants all of her & the four children they rescue from a floating chamber of horrors. In this book we also see the awesome power of the Sisters of the Heart when they all work together. They can almost give the Drake's a run for their money. 3 down 3 to go.

Purely Enjoyable

warning has sex and violence, but Inco rporated into the story and not drawn out ( at least not the violence). Sex is loving and only at the end of the book. Story is complex enough to be interesting
