It's a time when women have few rights. It's also a time when a determined woman could make a difference, with the right man at her side. Reese finds she must make a choice between two men and two times.

Magical!

This was a magical, feel good time travel story by Donna Weaver. Her characters are strong and well thought out. The time travel aspect was very entertaining and Aunt Nellie was a fun addition. It was interesting getting the point of view through the eyes of a modern American female cast into regency era times where women are treated as chattels. I really liked the way Reese never lost her spunk or independent nature and was even able to help, not only her new friend, but a village of people. I found myself keeping my fingers crossed that Reese and Jem Taylor would end up together in the end. The story did end on a bit of a cliffhanger so hopefully there will be a sequel. Kathleen Corbin did an amazing job with the narration. Her voices were distinct and easy to differentiate and she put emotion into her voice wherever necessary. This was definitely an enjoyable listening experience.

Uncovering Love with Immersion in the past

I read this story when it came out and really enjoyed it. The narrator made this book come to life. She did an excellent job of doing the accents with the appropriate characters. I loved hearing the story and reliving the magic. I enjoyed reading how Jem and Reese went about their lives and addressed their relationship in a different time period. I liked seeing how Reese was able to help out in 1850 with the division of classes, poor sanitation and poor nutrition. She felt like she could make a difference in a short time and she achieved that goal. This book is part of a series, so parts of the story were unanswered and did not have resolution that I would have liked. Overall, I loved the story and would recommend it to those like second chance romance with a twist.
