RITA Award winner Irene Hannon has also won the Holt Medallion for her romantic suspense. In this pulse-pounding thriller, the White House orders elite FBI operator Evan Cooper to secure Monica Callahan from a terrorist threat. Very Good Story - but too preachy in some parts

Very good story- plot definitely fits into today's political/ radical/ terrorist climate - so I didn't want to stop listening - I wanted to find out how it was all going to work out. But the preachy parts did take away from it for me & some parts, especially near the end were not as believable. I might have hesitated to buy it if I had known it was christian based - but over all I'm glad I listened to it.

Finding Courage

It is so good to have Christian mysteries. The story was slow on the up take. It took a while for the heroine to understand what it meant to be a family member of a political appointee. When Monica's dad tried to contact her after years apart, she wouldn't return his calls. This could have caused her death. It took her a while to really listen to what the FBI agent, Evan Cooper, was saying. Events happened to convince her that her life was in serious danger. It is funny how you learn a jingle and it sticks with you. For Monica, it saved her life.

Evan fell for Monica as soon as he saw her. This was beautiful. I really liked how Monica was not going to give up her Christian beliefs to have a person in her life. She never put Evan down for not being sure of his beliefs. This was a perfect opportunity to share her faith.

I was most surprised of how the FBI handled "safe housing". It seams like no one thought about how a tracker could be on or in something. Don't they scan everyday for bugs etc. I also did not understand why Monica's father's car was not inspected before he got in it. I just I have watched too many cop shows.

Everything worked out because it took courage to fight for life even when things looked bad.

Love this series

I've actually read this series before but I have recently gotten into audiobooks and wanted to listen to it. I thought the narrator did an excellent job with the voices of the terrorists.

Just passing the time

Would you try another book from Irene Hannon and/or Stevie Ray Dallimore?

I knew that this book had a Christian base and I was open to it but it was a little too back and white. The feelings expressed between the 2 main characters were too simplistic. I like the plot, the romance and the characters more developed and complicated. I listened to 3/4 of the book hoping it would get better. Usually a book pulls me in and I can't stop reading or listening but with this one I found that I was just passing the time. It feels more like a bad made for tv movie. Pretty predictable. I'm really surprised at the high reviews.

Narrator is bland, annoying pauses

I’ve listened to a number of Irene Hannon books and enjoyed them, especially those narrated by Therese Plummer. But I chose to send back this particular book because of the narrator. He pauses between sentences constantly... stretching out the listening time and causing the reading pace to be choppy. After several chapters, I called it quits.

I can’t honestly rate the whole novel because I didn’t finish it.

Excellent Story!

It was nice to read a clean book for a change. I love to read spy, espionage and adventure, and most of the authors I read, Baldacci, J.B. Turner, Jack Carr, Clancy and Flynn, all use their share of spicy language, shall we say. This book held my interest, and as stated is very clean. I did not find it overly religious, not like Dee Henderson. Given some time, I could listen to it again. The narrator was very good!

Could Find No Fault!

Suspense and intrigue. The good guys are real and the bad guys are very very bad! However the story is clean with good family values. No smut here!

Just as good the second time

I read this book awhile ago, and just listened to it on Audible. it's just as good-maybe even better- the second time around. The narrator really brings it to life.
