Publisher's summary

In this dark and steamy paranormal romance from New York Times best-selling author Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, one woman must trust a vengeful God with her life and possibly her heart.

Trapped for decades, a powerful god seeks freedom...and revenge. But the only thing that can save him is the passion of a woman's touch...

Emma Keane is your average city girl trying to get a date. There's just one thing holding her back: The disembodied male voice speaking to her through her mind. Sound kind of crazy? Maybe. But crazy turns downright deadly when the voice persuades her to travel to the wilds of the Mayan jungle. There she will free his bod - his incredibly hot, muscled, naked body.

Humans are so frail, so undisciplined, so susceptible to love. And when this ancient being connects with Emma, the feelings she sparks drive him utterly mad. Protective, keep-her-close, never-let-her-go kind of mad. Which might not be such a bad thing because from the moment the beautiful, passionate Emma unshackles his body, they are hunted at every turn. Now he'll have to do everything in his power to keep her safe. But will it be enough?

A VERY ENJOYABLE START A NEW PNR SERIES KICKS OFF

What a funny and fast paced original story that MJP has so cleverly written about - the Heroine Emma (a 22 yr old strong willed virgin) has lived with the constant domineering voice of Guy (aka Votan whose powerful, mysterious, arrogant and very opinionated - as most Gods are) for all of her life and she's finally had enough and sets off to rescue him.... or go mad.

Her never ending thoughts and snarky witty banter is hilarious and she's awe struck when she finally meets Guy, a drop dead gorgeous God whose mission is to free his fellow Gods and save the world from a villain bent on world domination. He's very attracted to Emma but doesn't want her involved so tells her very little which infuriates her and makes her vulnerable so she seeks the truth elsewhere but there are lies and misunderstandings galore but she's resilient and eventually finds it for herself.... but with dramatic deadly consequences.

There is lots of sexual sizzle, a couple of 'close encounters' but only one sex scene, yes this is a paranormal romance but most of the time they are arguing so it's not really romantic and the constant arguing and self-doubts does get repetitive towards the end which unfortunately seemed a bit rushed. However, this is a humorous, unpredictable, exciting and very enjoyable story with danger, mysteries, twists great characters and plenty of drama. With a small cliffhanger at the end with the arrival of a previously unseen character.

Worth a credit? It's a great start to a new PNR so very creditworthy and I'm looking forward to book 2 Accidentally Married To A Vampire and there's a short excerpt at the end to whet your appetite.

Interesting new slant

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this audiobook to a friend as it has a lot of interesting facets. It is funny and romantic and a lot of tongue in cheek.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Accidentally In Love With...a God??

When Guy meets Emma for first time face to face and also when they become a couple.

What about Helen Wick’s performance did you like?

She does an excellent job!!! I suspect she is one of those narrators that can make any story more interesting. I'm already looking for other books where she is the narrator!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Emma realizes Guy is also a virgin and has waited for her for eons.

Ditzi Victim Meets Gorgeous, Endowed God

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

My time was not wasted, but I almost hated the main female character for half of the book. I kept thinking "please stop being such a whiny victim." I think the author wanted to portray her as strong or coming into her own, but I started to think of her as stupid. Overall, the book made me feel smarter than a demi-god, so I guess it was time well spent.

Which character – as performed by Helen Wick – was your favorite?

I really enjoyed Tommy (Tomaso) and his intricacies. He kept me on my toes right up to the end. Guy the God (otherwise known as Guy Santiago) was also well done. My ultimate favorite though was the Monk. He was by far the best depiction in the audible book of what the author meant to portray in that character.

Do you think Accidentally In Love With...a God? needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Oh yes. That said, I would probably not read it as I did not end up feeling any better about the main character (I mean come on....how much whining can one girl do when she finds out she is a demi-god and stumbles into unimagined wealth???)

Any additional comments?

The book has moments of great humor and you will cheer for the main characters as they fight evil.

If you dislike cliffhangers, avoid this book!

Aside from the unfortunate title, the concept for this book seemed interesting, so I decided to give it a shot. I now know that it was quite the bad idea, and feel cheated. After hours of Emma whining, being highly judgemental over even the most trivial of things, going off half-cocked without thinking or using common sense, and ultimately being an immature adolescent in an adult's body, I finally get to the end of the book and run across a cliffhanger. The author may have resolved most things in the book, either by explanation or setting an expectation that some issues are being looked into, but then a blast from the past shows up in the last few sentences in the book and leaves a gaping hole in the story line. I was already annoyed with the poor execution of the ONE actual sex scene, and irritating main female in the book, but thought I'd give the series a second chance. Until the cliffhanger, and HELL no am I going to even consider reading book 2 in the series now. I feel robbed and like I wasted hours of my time on this book. Do yourself a favor and avoid this book like the plague if you do not like cliffhangers. In fact, go read Twilight. it's a much better book than this one could ever hope to become.

What is it with WHINNY heroine?

Okay story is pretty cool. I like the Gods, what they are and what they are suppose to do. I like the challenges and limitations of them. I like the connect that formed between the hero and the heroine and the back story behind it. I like the support network they have formed. the witty banter between the Hero and Heroine is often funny and amusing. So over all I recommend the story. But I am so very tired of stupid, whinny heroine's, who really just don't get it. I understand everyone makes mistakes and that makes it more real, but how many times can one person do stupid things that nearly get them and everyone else killed, after being repeatedly told it would and STILL do them. I would really like to see a heroine that makes mistakes, learns, and either improves, or just stops being so stubborn she is stupid. Stubborn does not need to equal stupid.

The first 6 hours of the book were good, entertaining, and well worth it. Hours 6-9 I really just wanted to shut the woman up and/or strangle her and wished it would end (yes she got that bad during that time) the last 2 hours of the book picked back up and equaled the first six.

The narrator was very good varying the voices and settings, making it easy to tell what was going on with who and where, communicated emotions well, even did the whinny enough to annoy (because it really was annoying even if I had been reading it) and then she was able to switch to communication patent frustration as the hero was annoyed with the whining too.

Quirky good

The heroine whined a lot, but she was funny too. I'll definitely try out more by this author.

So much fun

This book is so much fun to listen to. The storyline is interesting and the characters have a certain humor to them that makes even dangerous situations a little comical. I look for to the next book in this series.
