Good Story, Horrible Voice Performance

I enjoyed the P & P story variation, but the voice performance nearly ruins the entire effect. I wouldn’t purchase another audible book with Nina Price as the reader. Please find another performer!

I enjoyed it

I like reading a series, however I was not happy about not finding the next Audible in the series The Trappings of Marrage.

Enter into the world of shrill.<br />

The book is worth reading. The narration is horrible. The narrator has one voice for females, shrill. And one voice for males, deeper shrill. Join this with a narration that pauses every 4th o 5th word and only a liking for the book is worth suffering through.

An interesting twist on a familiar story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I recommend this performance to anyone who enjoys stories featuring Jane Austen's memorable characters, but with a detour from their story as we know it. Nina Price gives an enthusiastic vocal performance with unique intonations that surprised and delighted me.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the exploration of the true character of the players in the story. The darkness in the actions of several were quite jarring, as they are so often portrayed as either jovial or pompous, but rarely as malevolent. This story had depth; it wasn't just another glossy repackaging as a humorous social commentary.

Have you listened to any of Nina Price’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first of Nina Price's vocal performances that I have listened to.
