Great story!

I thoroughly enjoyed this second installment of The Blessings series. The story line, the subplots, the characters, and the narration were addictive. I had to finish this book in less than two days because I couldn’t stop listening.

A town full of blessings

I have recently discovered these blessing novels by Beverly Jenkins and my heart has been totally captured. Her blessing novels capture the communal love and concern predominantly Black towns exhibit towards each other. And in this fictional rendering as in real life, Black people do not care about your ethnicity if you join us in respect and honesty, we close our hearts and arms around you and treat you as we treat all of our family members. Sadly other ethnic groups do not treat us the same. Henry Adams Kansas resembles what I presume Greenwood Kansas aka Black Wall Street was like. Great novel that had me go out and purchase all of the blessing novels I could find. I truly enjoyed this and all of the blessing novels.

LESSONS LEARNED

I LOVED THIS BOOK. Didn't know of the author, Beverly Jenkins, but will from now on!. This is a story to be told over and over. When I listen or read the other ones, they probably could be a new series or movies if they are as wonderful as this one was. Enjoy your reads.

Entirely Satisfying

This had everything I wanted in a book: cozy small town, well-drawn characters, educational tidbits, expertly-constructed story, relatively low stakes and a low level of violence, and a lively but non-distracting narrator. A pleasure to read.

Ear catcher

I've read the first of this series and unsurprised this book was awesome. The plot, the love stories developing and the bonds coming to fruition. I also enjoyed listening to the narrator with the exception of a few words being pronounced incorrectly according to my vocabulary

Good listen!
