Publisher's summary

In this prequel to In Pursuit of Justice, Michael Lassiter, a theoretical design executive, is about to wage war on the corporate battlefield as she fights to maintain control of her company in the midst of divorce. She hires JT Sloan, an Internet security consultant, to protect her most important asset - her dreams and visions, which are suddenly vulnerable within the corporate computer system. Sloan, a brilliant cybersleuth who steadfastly avoids emotional commitments, shares a painful, secret past with her associate and friend, Jason McBride. Sarah Martin, a gentle practitioner of eastern medicine, searches for a way to heal a damaged soul.

These four very different individuals, each wounded by personal betrayal, find their lives becoming ever more inextricably bound as they struggle to trust, and to love, again.

Who wrote this?

Maybe I was spoiled by Fated Love, Turn Back Time, Passion's Bright Fury, the first half of the Provincetown Tales and nearly every single Honor book---but this drivel is not the Radclyffe I enjoy. I could not get attached or invested in any of the characters. None. I kept waiting to at least like them and care what happened, but it never happened. That is completely un-Radclyffe in my experience. If anything, I read FOR the characters even when the stories are redundant or weak. The characters are always worth the time. Not so here. Save a credit and your time. Skip this title.

And the narrator is my least favorite reader of Rad. She does the Justice series and I cannot make it through the audio versions.

Loved it!

Loved this book. I didn't know if I'd like the narrator but she was quite an unexpected surprise. When she talked she brought you right into the story and you feel like your right there with the characters My favorite moments where when Michael and Salone started to realize how much they wanted each other. chapters 13, 14, 15 where my favorites.

Start of A Marvelous Series

A cyber security expert is hired to protect the business and products of a genius developer while she is going through a divorce. JT Sloan is more than good at her job and her client is a beautiful woman with whom she’s having a hart time being only professional. A classic Radclyffe novel.

I really liked this one

I’ve listened to a lot of Radclyffe stories. This one was different.

Not all the audible selections are that great. Seems like a lot of self-published stuff that wouldn’t have survived a competitive process to get a publishing house and writing that really needed a pass through an editor’s hands somehow made it into the audible catalog. Radclyffe is a better, more polished writer.

Same with narration. I wonder how some of these people were hired to read, with their odd cadence, mispronunciations, and clear lack of understanding of what it is they read. Betsy Zajko is very good.

The combination of Radclyffe writing and Betsy Zajko reading made this a very enjoyable listen. This could be one of my favorites. I look forward to more from this duo.

absolutely wonderful! !

Betsy Zajko was and is a spectacular narrator. She truly brought the story home. She makes you feel like your right in the room with the characters! I brought this book when it was first published. However, Betsy made me feel like I was reading (hearing ) for the first time. She truly brings the story to life. I will definitely follow her as a narrator for future books!

Worth it

I love this series! My favorite couple is Michel and Sloane!! 2nd time around listening to this. Even though I would have enjoyed a different narrator since once in while couldn’t tell which character was talking, Betsy Zajko wasn’t bad.

My fault I didn't realize it was a lesbian erotica

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I don't mind the main characters to be lesbians or to describe the affair if there is a plot other than the lesbian love story

What do you think your next listen will be?

A mystery book

Any additional comments?

I thougt it was a mystery book with lesbian main characters and as I'm not a lesbian there was too much erotica between women for me.

Prequel to Justice series is excellent!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, It's an excellent book to read after Shield of Justice. But before the other Justice books Shield first introduces you to Rebecca Frye and Catherine And Watts and Sandy. Now A Matter of Trust introduces you to Sloan and Michael and Jason/Jasmine and Sarah. Then the next Justice book puts them altogether for one explosive novel but I am getting ahead of ahead of myself. A matter of Trust. Is a stand alone story of how J..T. Sloan computer whiz and Michael (a woman) a business genius get together and fall in love to the background of saving her company from a nasty virus and take over attempt from Michael estranged jerk of a husband that she is trying to divorce. The slow love story set again the fast pasted fight to keep her company is awesome and very heart warming but on top of that you have the love story of Jason/Jasmine and Sarah who is a wonderful love story as well and makes you want to know more about the couple even though this is primary a lesbian story their story is so funny an interesting it makes you want more about them. So yes I highly recommend this book to all my friends even a few of my straight friends.

What other book might you compare A Matter of Trust to and why?

I can't think of many off hand. Maybe a Third Story by Carole Taylor and that isn't even close. Or the more a Different Story but again that isn't right either. And I am mostly thinking about Jason, Anyway as the Love story between Michael and Sloan a lot of Radclyffe books are like it, Also a lot of Geri Hill stories like Highway to Hell or Coyote Sky Or Hunters Way, Stories were the two people just sort of fall in love while working on a joint project. But you could see the sparks fly between them from Hello, Radclyffe's Safe Harbor or when Dreams Tremble are both good examples but that isn't exactly right either, Just shut up read the book, you will love it. Sorry I can't think of a good example.

Which character – as performed by Betsy Zajko – was your favorite?

I loved the way she voiced Sloan and Michael. But her Jason / Jasmine was also awesome and made the story awful fun to listen too. She did a wonderful job with all the different voices it's hard to choose just one. .

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

God yes But I just don't have that kind of time so I had to just listen to it at night and in the morning. Boy was it a great story to wake up to and to go to bed listening to at night. It relaxed me while giving me a big happy smile at the same time. (Get your mind out of the gutter I said smile and I just meant a happy place) I truly enjoyed this story more than most of my books on Audible

Any additional comments?

Just give it a chace The computer parts are interesting on there own, the love stories are fantastic and the story is well written. The fact that it's a Radclyffe story is a plus, that it's a prequel to the Justice series is also a plus. And should be read after Shield and before the other Justice books. (Sorry I can't remember which one comes next, I think it's Shadow but I could be wrong, )
