Publisher's Summary

Olivia Kingsley didn't expect to fall in love and receive a secret marriage proposal two weeks into her first season. However, one dance with Allen Wimpleton, heir to a viscountcy, and her fate is sealed. Or so she thinks until her eccentric and ailing father, unaware of Allen's proposal, announces he's moving the family to the Caribbean for a year. In two days.

Allen begs Olivia to elope to Scotland, knowing her father will refuse his offer of marriage after such a brief acquaintance with Olivia. Having recently lost her mother, and fearing for her father's health, she refuses, pleading with Allen to wait for her until she returns to England. Angry at her hesitancy, and unaware of her father's ill health, Allen demands she choose - him or her father.

Heartbroken at his callousness, but thankful he's revealed his true nature before she married him, Olivia turns her back on their love. The year becomes three, enough time for her broken heart to heal, and after her father dies, Olivia returns to England. Coming face to face with Allen, she realizes she never purged him from her heart and once again the flames of love ignite, but is it too late? Does Olivia have any hope of winning Allen's heart once more, or has he found another?

    "Great book and awesome narration.."

I simply love these little novellas of Collette Cameron’s. To me, it’s like reading a novel. There’s a little angst, a little misunderstanding, a second chance, some sexual tension and an HEA. All that I require, sometimes.

Of course, there was no sex in this book but you could tell by Olivia and Allen’s thoughts that the desire was there.

I did like Olivia’s brother Bradford and her aunt Muriel. There was some funny chatter between the two, in the carriage ride to the Wimpletons, where Olivia will see Allen for the first time in 3 years, where they would discover they still loved one another.

This was a cute story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

As to the narrator: Fabulous! Stevie Zimmerman is one of my favorites. Great voices and awesome emotions.

    "A sweet romance"
Would you consider the audio edition of A Kiss for Miss Kingsley to be better than the print version?

Not necessarily, it depends on what you want at the time. Obviously it's quicker to read the book but listening to the audio version allows you to do other things or if you are unwell, just to relax and listen to someone else reading it for you. I found both versions very enjoyable.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Olivia Kingsley, she remains strong even after her disappointment but hasn't become bitter. She has a very caring nature.

Have you listened to any of Stevie Zimmerman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, this is the first time I've heard this narrator. I enjoyed her narration, I was pleased that she had an English accent as it was set in England with English people speaking.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    A sweet romance

    Any additional comments?

This is a novella so it lasted just over 2 hours, ideal for when your time is limited. I know longer audiobooks can take up to 2 weeks to find the time to listen to them.
I received a free copy . This is my honest review,

"A Kiss for Miss Kingsley by Collette Cameron"

I loved A KISS FOR MISS KINGSLEY by Collette Cameron. My only complaint would be it was so enjoyable I hated for it to end. The characters all had entertaining personalities, which were very well illustrated both in the writing and the narration. Not a stuffed shirt to be found. I knew Allen and Olivia would find their way back to each other, but still was captivated by the journey. This is a sweetly romantic well written and engagingly narrated story I strongly recommend. 4.5 stars

"Three years & an ocean can't make true love fade"
    Any additional comments?

A nice short story. Three years prior Olivia and Allen fell in love over just a few weeks. Allen asks Olivia to marry him but her father is ill and is moving the family away to the Caribbean. In anger Allen tells her if she choses her father over him it is over. She tells him her will return in a year.
The story finds Olivia being taken to a ball by her brother and dowager Dutchess aunt who think her seeing Allen again will help her move on now that she is back. What happens from there shows that true love love never dies.
Collette once again spins a lovely tale that pulls you in and makes you cheer on the characters.

"A kiss and a promise for a delightful romance

    "

A Kiss for Miss Kingsley is a delightful, satisfying love story.
Collette Cameron is magically adept at describing the feelings of a lady's lost love devastation. Her raw feelings of need, want and fear of rejection in front of a censoring society are heart-rending.
A young man having the same feelings but with added pride to stand in their way of overcoming the mountain standing between them. The duty of family responsibility standing at the forefront.
Stevie Zimmerman does a wonderful narration of feminine softness for the ladys' roles as well as the needed resonate deep tones for the male counterparts.
This is a short, sweet, satisfying romantic story to listen to while working, driving or just relaxing to a sweet romantic interlude.
Olivia and Allen's story is sweet historical romance are it's best
