Publisher's summary

Not all dukes are created equal. Most are upstanding members of society. And then there's the trio known as Their Dis-Graces.

Hugh Philemon Ancaster, seventh Duke of Ripley, will never win prizes for virtue. But even he draws the line at running off with his best friend's bride. All he's trying to do is recapture the slightly inebriated Lady Olympia Hightower and return her to her intended bridegroom.

For reasons that elude her, bookish, bespectacled Olympia is supposed to marry a gorgeous rake of a duke. The ton is flabbergasted. Her family's ecstatic. And Olympia? She's climbing out of a window, bent on a getaway. But tall, dark, and exasperating Ripley is hot on her trail, determined to bring her back to his friend. For once, the world-famous hellion is trying to do the honorable thing.

So why does Olympia have to make it so deliciously difficult for him?

So so

They never do say they love each other. Unless I fell asleep. It is implied. The narrator doesn’t clearly speak...sometimes you can’t tell who is who.

Kate Reading is the perfect narrator!

I’ve always enjoyed Kate Reading, whether she does American for the Kay Scarpetta series, or English. But, like Scott Brick is perfect for Nelson DeMille, Kate “gets” Loretta Chase’s humors -all if them. Duke in Shining Armor didn’t grab me out of the gate like Lord Perfect, but it has grown on me — just as Olympia and Ripley have grown, and to, each other.

I can’t wait to hear Ashmont’s and Blackwood’s stories.

So much fun....

Loved the story, and anything narrated by Kate Reading is definitely worth a listen. This is an entertaining story with colorful characters, entertaining dialog, and it's own hea.

A Duke in Shining Armor

The first 1/3 or more of this book was hands down hilarious. The rest of the book did not disappoint either! Narrator Kate Reading did an excellent job. Author Loretta Chase is great. You will not be disappointed.

Can't wait for the next in the series

Loretta does it again. I love the way she writes, her dialogues are hilarious. Lord Perfect is still my favorite with Last Nights Scandal coming in next or is Lord of Scoundrels second. If you haven't listened to her books give them a try. I love a good laugh with my romance.

Did I miss something?

Loretta Chase is an automatic buy for me. Add to that my all time favorite narrator, Kate Reading, and this was a no brainer. What I’m confused about is some references made throughout the book leaving me scratching my head wondering if I fell asleep and missed something important…. However that did not stop my enjoyment of this seriously fun story. I just wonder what happened to the dog Cato? He seemed to disappear half way through the book and that made me sad I really enjoyed his contribution to the overall chaos.

Very witty

Loved this book, very witty, I chuckled all the way through the book. The narrator was exceptionally good at the various parts. Will look forward to the next in the series!

unexpected wonderful!

I was thinking that this would be a banal story that I could listen to with half my attention while I did something else. WRONG! This was the funniest, cleverest romance novel I've ever heard. And the narration was perfection! Can't wait to hear number 2!

Great Entertainment

This was the first book from Ms. Chase that I listened to. I was not disappointed. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard listening to a audio book. Olympia (the heroine of the story) kept me in stitches. So did Ripley (hero) and all the other characters in this book. OMG. The banter and situations in which Olympia and Ripley find themselves is so hilarious. Olympia decides she needs air prior to her marriage to a duke. She panics and drinks a little bit more brandy than she should and ends up on a merry chase through the outskirts of London.
