Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author Madeline Hunter comes the latest sexy tale of three untamable dukes and the women who ignite their decadent desires....

He may be a devil....

He's infamous, debaucherous, and known all over town for his complete disregard for scandal, and positively irresistible seductions. Gabriel St. James, Duke of Langford, is obscenely wealthy, jaw-droppingly handsome, and used to getting exactly what he wants. Until his attention is utterly captured by a woman who refuses to tell him her name, but can't help surrendering to his touch....

But she's no angel either....

Amanda Waverly is living two lives - one respectable existence as secretary to an upstanding lady, and one far more dangerous battle of wits - and willpower - with the devilish Duke. Langford may be the most tempting man she's ever met, but Amanda's got her hands full trying to escape the world of high-society crime into which she was born. And if he figures out who she really is, their sizzling passion will suddenly boil over into a much higher stakes affair....

Mystery, Intrigue, Romance-Makes for a great story

My first Madeline Hunter novel. Loved it! I thought the length would mean I would have to bear many inner thoughts. Not so. The book was filled with dialogue that told the story. Rosalyn Landor did a great job of narration. My only regret is that I read the 2nd of the decadent dukes novels first. Now the story of Clara and the Duke of Stratton will be anti-climactic.

The best of the trilogy

Dash of Oceans 8 or 11, Oliver Twist, Annie and Cinderella. Narration is perfection. Story is just my cup of tea. Madeline Hunter’s female characters are from the working class and have relatable personalities. A respite from the ladies of the ton whose mamas major goal in life is to marry a titled man.

Complexity of the plot

Fantastic story and superb narrative. Eloquent and entertaining delivery of both the plot and character backgrounds.

What a fun love story!

Amanda and Gabriel's love story was an exciting and fun one. I love that the author chose to make the heroine completely different from what you normally see in historical romances about dukes. She has spunk and intelligence, making the reader empathize with her her story that much more. Amanda keeps Gabriel on his toes, and Gabriel shows her what it means to be truly appreciated for who she is. Rosalyn Landor is easily one of the best narrators on audible and she does not disappoint in this book.

What a fun story

I really enjoy the narrator. She does a great job, bringing all the characters to life and giving them each their own personality. The story was fun and romantic, and a little naughty.

Absolutely Delicious!

I loved the story line, and the characters. Every element of this book, including narration, was fully formed and mature and new exactly what it was. She’s such a creative and confident writer. And the perfect amount of STEAMY STEAMY.

Great story

Perfect narration as always from Rosalyn Landor. Funny at times. Tearful. But wonderfully romantic. I loved both H/H. But Amanda was terrific. I loved that she didn't quibble at end and blather on about not being worthy. Recommend.

Love it!

This book (#2) is 10 times better than the first book. If you just finish the first book and you're not sure if you want to read the rest of the series I recommend that you do. I could not stop reading the second book. I am very much looking forward to reading book number three.

ok

kinda silly. but I listened because Rosalyn Landor narrated it and I kept waiting for it to get better to no avail. Too bad because it never got better. oh well, c'est LA vie in the unfamiliar author world .
