Publisher's summary

Every choice has a consequence.

I believe in soul mates. Why? Because I have one, and his name is Jax Porter.

I have known Jax my whole life, and I have loved him with every breath I've ever taken. The fact that we were born a mere month apart to mothers that are best friends has made us inseparable since birth. What we have is so rare, one would think our story would be written, our fate sealed. But, unfortunately, that's not how life works. Life offers us many choices that can turn destiny into chance.

I now find myself heading toward a destination that I could have never imagined, and I have to figure out where to go from here.

Will the choices that have been made change our path forever, or will fate find its way?

This book is intended for listeners 18+ due to sexual content.

A Beautiful Kind of Story

I enjoyed this book though it was fraught with angst. It's definitely one of those cases when I didn't care for the hero but still appreciated the story. Like life, I'm not going to like everyone- and definitely not going to agree with their every decision- but I can understand their motivation. You absolutely must read book two if you read this one.

What a Choice!

I honestly thought this would be a sappy romantic novel, but I was wrong. rhe story flows from will they or wont they to a bigger delima that was not imagined. I guess there is truth that every choice has its consequences and nothing lasts forever. Also, the narrators add so much to this story.

Broken...

Any additional comments?

Let's just start of by saying right off the gate that Caitlin Kelly is one of the best narrators I've listened to in a LONG time, her voice is so young and so fresh that its beautiful.

Ok ... back to the meat and potato's!!

WOW, OMG stop this... stop it right now... this book took me up than down and than I was nervous and than anxious. I took this audio to the grocery store, and back to make dinner - I couldn't put it down, I had to know what was going to happen- I made my own conclusions from the start and refused to look at other reviews on Goodreads so that no spoilers happened, and guess what I'm heart broken, no matter the outcome.. it wasn't the one I wanted!!

Two best friends from birth turned teenage lovers. Jax went off to college while Lilly stays home for a year. After doing her thing, it was her time to find her place in this world, so she carts herself off to a college in Michigan 2 hrs away from Jax. Lilly was okay with this, she was living the college life and still had the love of her life.
Except Jax had different plans.

I was so upset with Jax, seriously, what did you expect? How dare him be upset , and I couldn't get over the fact why he couldn't keep her? They didn't go to the same school? They're suppose to be forever!

Than we meet Trenton, uh... I hate him. He's arrogant, stuck up and controlling oh did I mention he's a lying snake.
I feel so bad for LIlly, she is perfect and she doesn't deserve the back and forth between Jax and Trenton.
Two best friends who became more. Except this love story isn't the love story I cheered for.

Alright

This wasn't my favorite story but it was composed well. It was a little sappy, for my taste, and I hated the ending. Despite this, I do recommend it to anyone who likes a good romance/finding yourself book.

Roller coaster of emotions ..

The book took some getting use to at first but the performance was good. The story did not appear to have a twist but OMG what a twist. Light hearted dramatic love story. Good for mindless driving will keep you addicted

Not so beautiful..more like different

If you could sum up A Beautiful Kind of Love in three words, what would they be?

A Dysfunctional Love

Would you be willing to try another book from Ellie Wade? Why or why not?

Probably not. I thought the use of vulgar words was completely unnecessary and took away from the story. The details in the sex scenes were also not necessary. I can appreciate a great sex scene. Study the styles of Nora Roberts or Sara Donati.

What does Caitlin Kelly and Chris Abell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I enjoyed the voices and different perspectives each narrator brought to the story. Both narrators did an excellent job in pacing and narration styles.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I found the storyline very frustrating. The author did a great job describing the naivety and carelessness of youth and how sex is so much more than teens can handle. Unfortunately in this story..they never figure it out. This is not a feel good story, but it probably is all too true for so many young people out in today's world.

The story was very well narrated and well told. I just didn't care for the "realness" of the story (and the use of vulgarity and explicit descriptions).

An intense relationship

A friendship that began in the cradle and continued to adulthood. This story was intense at times and made me laugh and cry. It dealt with the question of communication and the consequences of a lack of talking over problems. Choices made had consequences, not always what they wanted. For those who read about relationships that work and those that do not.

BOUGHT BOOK 2 WHEN I WAS HALFWAY THROUGH! LOVE IT!

Would you listen to A Beautiful Kind of Love again? Why?

I would, and probably will...lol This was a wonderfully written book...it made me sooo sad, and sooo angry at times...but I couldn't put it down!

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Beautiful Kind of Love?

When Jax puts the relationship on hold...and the end when Lilly goes to his house...

What about Caitlin Kelly and Chris Abell ’s performance did you like?

I adore Caitlin...she is excellent in every narration she performs...Chris is ok...I am sure I will bond more with him in book 2...I may just have a grudge because he is Jax...lol

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I SURE DID...I CRIED, SCREAMED AND HAD TO TAKE A LITTLE BREAK!!! LOL

Any additional comments?

** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **

Oh where to begin....Young love is sometimes stupid love...selfish love...expectant love...something we expect to last forever....but is that realistic? It can be if meant to be...and I really feel Jax and Lilly are meant to be...Best friends from birth, they were destined...they fall deeply in love, and date through the end of high school..Jax is a football star and gets a scholarship to a big school...Lilly chooses to go to a different school, they try the long distance thing..and Jax freaks out...breaks it off, but wants to be BFF's still...things just escalate...and the timing is all off, hearts are broken..and sometimes it is just to late!

BRAVO CAITLIN!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND, AND I AM ON TO BOOK 2 NOW!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Not At All Expected-5*'s Read On

Jax and Lily have known each other since forever. Their parents are the best of friends and sort of alone in the world, so they spend holidays, summer picnics, and other events altogether. There is not a time that Jax and Lily can remember where their mothers their fathers, sisters and brothers haven't all been together – a surrogate kind of family.

The story follows their relationship from high school or college and beyond. I normally don't like romance is set in this era of the characters lives. However, the author was able to write about this time period, in an adult contemporary romance.

I cannot express enough how much I liked this book, even though it follows the lives of kids to teenagers to adulthood. If you like contemporary romance, but not young adults, I promise you that you will enjoy this book.

Reading the publishers summary along with this review, will provide a good grasp on the plot, context, etc.

*I was offered a copy of this book in exchange for my review. Please take a moment to look at my other reviews so that you will know that I am an unbiased reviewer. I easily give this book 5 stars in each category. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.

Notes: There are a few intimate 'mature' scenes & a bit of strong language. 18+ Audiences

I would give this book an R rating, because of the things listed in my notes above.

The narrator is amazing. This is the first time I have listened to anything Caitlin Kelley & Chris Abell. The performance is easily give her 5 stars. A very talented team for performance – because of the numerous characters of both sexes, as well as other characters of different ages and status. Great job!

I enjoy leaving reviews, as I know that I read them the reviews of others before I purchase a book. If you found my review helpful in your decision about this book, would you please select yes directly below this paragraph? Thank you so much.

Please consider "following me" here on Audible.com. I purchased a lot of books by authors that I am faithful to. I also have the opportunity to review books in all genres, many that I would not pick up on my own. I have been pleasantly surprised by new authors and narrators. Thanks!

This is the first time listening to something by this author and performed by these narrators. I will look for their work in future books.
