That ending, though...

The story was much longer than it needed to be. The ending was one of the most anticlimactic I've heard in a long time. I liked the narrator more than many people seemed to, though. If I see another long book by Jade Lee, I'll probably steer clear.

Dull

The title and story caption made the book sound somewhat interesting. It was part of the Audible Escape, so i didn't actually pay for the book. There are parts of the book that just drag on and on unnecessarily. I'm not sure the author understands how english titles work, as there were some minor errors, they don't take away from the story. Narration was fine, nothing great.

Sexy and sweet!!

This story had everything! Spicy scenes, funny dialogue, and one of the cutest couples in a romance book ever! I loved it

1 way to ruin a book? Give it to a BAD narrator!

I gave the story itself 5 Stars since without hearing it I can assume nothing and have nothing to give an opinion on.

HOWEVER!

NARRATOR : She is the reason I Cannot listen to this book! I know I have listened to her in the past .... for whatever its worth. However THIS performance was SO stilted and choppy with each word individually clipped to the extent that it sounds like a list of words instead of sentences! Twice I got to 20 minutes before yanking out my ear buds in DISGUST. A few more times I didn't get to 2 minutes . Needless to say I WANTED to hear this book. But I couldn't concentrate long enough on putting the words together in my mind...

CREDITWORTHY ? NO ! Not in my opinion.!!

An Epic... what the hell just happened

Ummm... I was totally invested in this story. Great lead characters, great scenes. But in the end it kind of fizzled. Although it was a good conclusion it just left me disappointed. That it!!

No. Both were not worth the time to listen to this book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jade Lee again?

This was my first book , but there was no chemistry and there were several scenes that did not make sense or fit into the plot. It just seemed like a series of vignettes that were cobbled into a plot, as if there was a checklist of things that had to go into the book.I also don't like the idea that some authors use that if a woman is smart, she is looking at having sexual experiences as part of her "education". The hero becomes an instructor for sex ed 101. There is nothing romantic about this approach. The innocent country girl to passionate & curious temptress occurs over approx 2 weeks..wow, that's fast!!

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Charlotte Anne Dore?

I really don't think even the best narrator could move through this disaster of confused silliness, to make it enjoyable. No chemistry and poor dialogue can't be made better by a better narrator. Maybe it is for the best that narrating talents weren't wasted here.

What character would you cut from 50 Ways to Ruin a Rake?

Anyone that used the term " cricket princess"... just stupid.

Why this title. there is a "way to ruin a rake" that starts every chapter, but there are only 27 chapters. This is a shameless rip-off of 50 shades of gray. Even the title is silly and confusing, so you get a sense of the entire book just from that.
