If she’s not writing fan letters to her favorite celebrity chefs, she’s practicing recipes on her well-meaning, if overworked, mother.
But when Ellie and her mom move so they can help take care of her ailing grandpa, Ellie has to start all over again in a new town at a new school. Except she’s not just the new kid - she’s the new kid in the wheelchair who lives in the trailer park on the wrong side of town. It all feels like one challenge too many, until Ellie starts to make her first-ever friends. Loved from start to end.
Please make a second part, I want to know what happened to grandpa and if she gets to stay in Oklahoma. Thank you so much for such a beautiful story. It was my son’s summer time project, and thought it would be boring; but wow my apologies, great book to read or listen. Thank you!!

Well written and heartwarming
My kiddo is disabled and I loved this story! We read it together. It gave me a lot to think about from the perspective of a disabled child. I loved the characters and the book was well written.
