Roy is a folk singer who travels to American festivals by any means necessary. He is a globetrotter. The road is his friend, and he has no permanent home or job. While traveling to Portland, he meets the singer Willy and immediately feels inspired to write melodies. Willy becomes his muse, but she is not free.
