Beginning in the spring of 1969, Huckleberry Finn inspired a question: Could you build a raft, float down the Mississippi River to New Orleans, and on the way learn something about America and its peoples? Will Bagley, a vagrant longhair and future prize-winning western historian, and his friends could, and did. Now, a half century after the adventure, Bagley tells his story.

Will Bagley is an amazing writer. He's able to describe the scene so you feel like you're there with him without being superfluous. The honesty in his self-reflection is refreshing.
This is a book I'll definitely be revisiting in the future. I kept wondering if there were photographs if I purchased a hard copy - I'd love to see a lot of the things he described at the time he experienced them.
I love when authors narrate their own books. The sound volume was a little inconsistent but it wasn't a big deal - I just turned my headphones up or down on my run.
Loved going on this Mississippi River adventure
