Publisher's summary

Nolan Black is gorgeous, bold and unapologetic in his desire for me. When I fall into his lap in Las Vegas, our connection is instant.

Once I'm back in Manhattan we can't resist the attraction. The draw is too intense, and the desire is addictive. I want him in ways I promised myself I wouldn't. He needs me in ways he didn't know existed.

The pull is strong enough to erase the doubt and to drown out all the questions. Until the secrets we've buried in our pasts collide in a way no one could have predicted. Contains mature themes.

Worth the Risk!! 💕

This book was so beautifully written. I loved every minute of it. I was hooked form the moment Ellie fell into Nolan Black's lap to the end when they get there HEA.

Ellie, a Vegas security guard, falls into Nolan Black's lap and their connection is instant. Ellie dreams of becoming a police detective and hopes to become one with Vegas PD, but when she is fired, she returns back to NYC. Luckily for her, Nolan and Crew were witness for her shame and hire her on the spot as head security for the Matiz Cosmetics flagship store in NYC. Nolan can't stay away from Ellie and pursues a relationship with her, even though she is hesitant due to her previous relationship. Ellie takes a risk with Nolan, a risk that will eventually pay off but will open up long held secrets, coincidences and the mother of all twists, too. The underlying story of all this is Nolan believes Ellie is Kip, a girl he met when he was younger. The more he gets to know Ellie, the more he realizes, Ellie and Kip are not the same person. As their relationship continues, more secrets are revealed and Nolan and Ellie have to figure out if their relationship is worth the risk.

This is the second book I've read by Deborah Bladon, and I loved every second of it. This story is dual POV narration and provides an insight into both characters. Ellie and Nolan had great chemistry together. This story had captivating characters, a well written plot, sexy times, passion, drama, romance and some twists and turns at the end. You will not be disappointed. The narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life. First time listening to these two narrators and I absolutely enjoyed it. They brought out the emotions for each character and kept me captivated the whole time.
P.S. If you want to know if Crew and Adley ever get together, they have their own story in The Troublemaker.

Who Is The Real Kip?

Okay, so I love Deborah and her books are never straight forward and I really like that. This book is no different. The characters all have some mystery or secret that keeps you wondering which way is this story going. There were so many unanswered questions that I was starting to get frustrated with being in the dark for so long, but all was revealed near the end. I would have liked it better if the secrets were revealed in increments instead of all at once. I liked the intense attraction between Nolan and Ellie that kept the sparks flying and the sex hot between them.

The narration was okay, Rudy was really good with male voices but not so much with the female and child's voices. Amelie was mostly okay with the female voices but at times kind of dry and the male voices were way too feminine.

Overall this was a good listen and worth the risk -- I would pay the price again.

YES, I RISKED A CREDIT.. & WAS HAPPILY SURPRISED

Ellie Madden is a bold confident sassy Security Guard working in Las Vegas and, while doing her job, she ends up in the hard as a rock lap of the thief's sexy date.. Nolan Black who turns out to be the handsome hot young CEO of Matiz Cosmetics. And that night Fate and Destiny got together and threw some very clever spanners into this couple's lives because before long Ellie finds herself fired, hired and has moved back to NYC.. and is working at Matiz Cosmetics. But the wicked duo of Fate and Destiny were just warming up because Ellie takes a risk with Nolan.. a risk that'll eventually pay off but it'll open up long held secrets, coincidences and the mother of all twists too.

Nolan Black is a successful businessman who likes his life of work, wealth and women but he once knew a young homeless girl with bright red hair and blue eyes and, over the years, he and his friend Crew have searched the faces of any blue eyed redheads that passed their way. So when one such redhead falls into his lap Nolan wonders if the sexy stranger could actually be that missing girl. But this feisty firecracker is very different from the timid long lost mystery girl.. and their sizzling chemistry soon has Nolan single-mindedly pursuing Ellie, changing his non-dating habits, revealing well held secrets to her.. and opening his heart up to love. Then their pasts collide.

A really enjoyable dual POV story as Nolan woos and wins the love of his life risking a lot in the process.. and as Ellie risks her heart once more by starting a relationship that should've fizzled out but grew stronger and deeper instead - until there were no more secrets between them - just a lot of love.. and eventually some emotional wtf's. Good characters, a well written plot, sexy times, passion, a bit of angst and drama as jealousies flare, mystery, suspense, romance and a twist or two at the end. However, there was something wrong with Amelie Griffin's narration which was a bit emotionally flat and choppy but it wasn't bad enough to spoil the listen.. neither was Rudy Sanda's narration which was ok.. except when he did a female or child's voices.

Worth a credit? Yes definitely.

Another amazing story

Deborah Bladon is a master of creating heart wrenching, emotional and completely entertaining stories. This was no different. The plot twists and intrigue behind the 2 main characters was gripping and enticing. Their chemistry was off the chart and the steam emanating from them together was palpable.

The narrators, Amelie and Rudy were not my favorite. Amelie was pretty good but something about her voice just didn't click as the main female character, maybe too childish when she was such a tough woman. Rudy did great until it came to a female or a child's voice. Both of those portrayals were nails on a chalkboard for me and completely kicked me out of the story until it was just the male characters, then I could settle back in.

The narration wasn't bad enough to make me not want to listen, by any means. I loved this audio and will probably listen again for the story line.
