Acerca de esta escucha
With Saul and his sons dead, the door opens for David to become king (1010-970 B.C.). But it’s not easy. Kingship rests with the tribe of Benjamin, while David is from the tribe of Judah; Saul still has a surviving son and grandchildren; Saul’s commanding general, Abner, has rallied ten of the twelve tribes to the house of Saul; and David has been an outlaw for a decade, working for Israel’s enemies, the Philistines. Although we read that God gave the kingship to David, it is another matter entirely to convince the people that David should be king. In a series of deft—and often brutal—political moves, David maneuvers his way to the throne. This is not the pious story we hear in church!

Dr. Bill Creasy of Logos Bible Study uses a literary, historical approach to examine and enliven the bible for modern listeners. Dr. Creasy draws on his studies, travels, and personal anecdotes to vividly depict the works of scripture. excellent
Dr Bill Greasy does an excellent job explaining and narrating the full story of David. He does add in some extra things that are really his opinion. I like listening because it is interesting, but it also drives me to reread the Bible to get the real facts.
