Publisher's Summary

The "how-to-get-it-right" book for today's Christian man - in marriage, family, work, friendships, with God in all of life.

Men are hungry for authenticity and for sound and bold biblical teaching on true masculinity. Every day men ask themselves questions about how to be better fathers, husbands, friends, and men, but it's difficult to find satisfying answers.

Rise of the Servant Kings explains that true masculinity is found in absolute surrender to God, which always results in humble character and is expressed in courage and generosity. When a man truly understands God's desires, he will naturally express godly masculinity.

Ken Harrison weaves together his experiences as a police officer in one of the deadliest areas of the country with many years as a business executive and ministry leader to share deep truths for men direct from God's word.

Critic Reviews

“In Rise of the Servant Kings, Ken Harrison explains clearly what the core qualities of a man of God should be. Since Ken is an ex–police officer, he is not afraid to get right to the nitty-gritty in describing how a man can apply the Bible’s principles for authentic masculinity in every area of life—from personal integrity to marriage to fatherhood to serving his fellow man. If you want a no-nonsense guide to getting manhood right, this is it.” (Evander Holyfield, four-time world heavyweight champion)

“Some authors write with ink and some with water. Harrison writes with blood and fire, and his soul-stirring call for men to rise to the challenge of the hour is bold, timely, and heartwarming. If Christian men respond as the promise keepers described here, the world will be a different and better place.” (Os Guinness, author of The Call: Finding and Fulfilling God’s Purpose for Your Life)

“Masculinity, as God designed it, isn’t toxic. Rather, it’s good, life giving, courageous, and sacrificial. There were times while reading this book when I felt as if Ken were in my face! It was uncomfortable, but what he says is spot-on. I know Ken loves Christ, cares about the right things, and is passionate about seeing God’s kingdom advance. The truth he speaks is truth men need to hear.” (John Stonestreet, president of the Colson Center and coauthor of A Practical Guide to Culture)

Still Stunned and In Awe By What This Has Shown Me

Has a reality ever struck you so profoundly that it left you trembling and speechless? That exact thing is what just happened to me upon the completion of this book. Father help me. I am so hopelessly lost without a true, personal, exclusive relationship with Your Son Jesus. Holy Spirit please lead me to the Truths of Jesus Christ in every single aspect of my life. Oh my God, help me please to find Him, and then never, ever let go in Jesus'Name, Amen

Phenomenal, turning point

guys, let's stop living for us.

I particularly like the part about a man being known by his enemies....that's a cool way of looking at the temperature of our convictions.

also, the story about him getting kicked out of the church hit home.

This a genuine call for all men to join the battle

This is the best book I've ever experienced other than the Bible of course. Ken Harrison consistently bases and backs his writing up with Scripture in this book. This is an undeniable plea for men to wake up, stamp out our pride, and move to the frontline of the battle. Thank you Mr. Harrison for this authentic definition of what it means to be truly humble and for showing us how vital it is to live in humility every day.

The Only Way to Lead

This is an excellent and deeply challenging book for men. Jesus gave up His glory and suffered as a servant, and every man who desires to live a Godly life in this world is called to do the same.

Must listen for Husbands and Fathers!

I purchased this after seeing an advertisement for it. It was a great purchase. Christian men in this day and age are in need of a pep talk and this did the trick for me. Really convicted me to be a better Father and Husband and to wait and trust on the Lord. Showed me that I need to be relying more on prayer as it’s something I’ve been “too tired” to do most nights. Ken is someone to emulate and I will try and be more like him. It taught me that I need to die to myself and focus more on sacrificing for my family. Thanks Ken! I’ll be listening to this again soon as the lessons could easily be revisited over and over.
