Best Sci-fi Novel I Read in a While!

Gosh, where do I even begin?! I usually listen to audiobooks in the car, but I listened to this book everywhere and pretty much anytime I had a free minute! I found myself completely disappearing in the worlds full of beautiful landscapes, creatures, space ships, and all sorts of characters good and bad. Every time I had to pause the book, I couldn't wait to get back to it and see what happens next. I mean, there might or might not have even been a cyborg... or maybe even more than one... I don't want to give it all away! I really can't wait for the next book!

Excellent Science Fiction

Story opens with seemingly having one main character, but introduces other characters that play a strong part throughout the adventure. Great teamwork principles are taught through each character’s interaction with the other characters. Narration is preformed very clearly with good vocal pressure utilized. I recommend this audiobook for ages 16 and older due to violence and language I was given this audiobook for free and I freely give it my rating and opinion

Great Debut to READ

I recently got an audiobook copy of John Payne's book Shadows of the Feyd and enjoyed it. When I got the opportunity to snag a copy of his this, his first published book, I was looking forward to it. The writing is not quite as strong as Shadows of the Feyd (5 years of additional development as a writer tends to improve the craft!), but it was still very well written. The characters are relatable and the struggles they face hold your attention. Pacing is good and the world well developed. It makes for a great READ. Unfortunately, the narrator of the audiobook absolutely killed my enjoyment of that version. Think of the stereotype of the way that William Shatner delivered lines sometimes in Star Trek. Then apply it to every... single... line... of... the... book. For 10... whole hours. Yeah. While the narration was ironically better (less Shatner-y) when doing dialogue than description, the narrator was just too much. Disclaimer: I was given this a free review copy audiobook and have voluntarily left this review.
