Publisher's Summary

A 6,000-year war rages and now the demonic Fallen are coming for him - the one man shrouded in mystery. Only Validus stands in their way.

Validus is the last and least of God's angels, but he's seen much across the millennia since his creation. Empires have risen and fallen as angelic and demonic forces battle in a raging war that will determine humanity's fate - and the fate of his defeated brothers.

Eventually called to be an earth-bound warrior, Validus rises to a position of power and respect, commanding legions of angels through impossible battles and overwhelming odds. But when orders arrive from the Creator's most elite Messenger, he finds himself suddenly demoted to a task of apparent insignificance considering the fierce war they are waging against the demonic Fallen - the covert protection of one unbelieving man.

Validus soon finds himself on a mission that will push him beyond his abilities as he battles to protect Drew Carter, for the Fallen are coming for him. Legions of them. As Validus races against time to discover why Drew is so important to humanity's survival, can he stand between Drew and all who would destroy him?

Wow!

I was taken aback by the different direction that Chuck took in this book. However as I got through the first couple of chapters I began to love it! I appreciated learning the backstory and seeing events from the other side that happened in the first book! Very good Christ centered reading.

Magnificent!

Great story line(s), I love the unfolding of the dual realities. Great job depicting the spirit war in the spirit realm!

What Happened to the Characters?

I loved the first book and was really excited about listening to the next installment, only to discover that there is a tremendous discontinuity between the two books. I feel like maybe it should just belong to a different series, one which features the angels, both the good angels and the fallen.

It was just very jarring to break up the unfinished story the way it did.

Excellent!

An excellently written, performed, and interesting story! Well worth enjoying more than once! What a wonderful way to help others visualize and understand spiritual warfare better while giving insight to the stories of the Bible at the same time! Very entertaining!

Absolutely had to finish this and get Book 3!!

What a twist!

A significant change in perspective from Book 1, with very effective flashbacks filling the in backstories... All the way back! Exceptional conjecture of how Biblical events may have occurred from an angelic perspective...and the unseen battles that have raged in the heavenlies for millennia between the forces of good and evil. With the outcome being the survival or destruction of the human race!

Terrific job of filling in gaps going back to Book 1, and dropping hints of what "might" be coming in Book 3. Don't take it for granted, though; you'll be surprised by some significant, thought-provoking twists!

Man, I'd like to see this on the Big Screen!
