Only about half about ISIS

While this book was ok, it was at least 50 to 60% about Israel's struggle against Hamas and Palestine and a scornful diatribe against the United States' failure to intervene more for Israel, instead of being solely about history and future of ISIS as the title implies.

Would you listen to Rise of ISIS again? Why?

Obama did this he is it part of it Allowed all this to happen in the name of socialism. He sent to IsIS in middle of the night. Obama is no leader he has his trainers trained monkey With the Music Machine turn the crank you know begging for dollars I want to know where the 14 trillion went to We the people do not owe a dime to the country we've already paid they were over spent Massage six figure income they need to take and so on minimum wage Just like the rest of us.

The Crusades... This isn't the first time that the Muslims have tried to take over the world back in the 1400s They tried in the church sentThe Knights Templars to stop the slaughter Of millions of people. They are like locusts that spread and destroy

Hearing this on audio book was annoying. He read it so fast it was almost in a fervor. I had to play it on .75x speed. He really rushes through some complex concepts. It was okay, perhaps a little one-sided and rambly, but a good brief overview of some complex issues. He starts by examining the ideology and history of Muslim jihadists. He then mainly looks at the legal justifications for our actions against Muslim terrorists based on international laws of war, as well as the international laws of war that terrorists violate. If you're hoping for an examination of the moral issues and cultural ramifications of this war, then look elsewhere.

Good view on ISIS and Hamas

This book is highly.educational on areas terrorism and Islam: the rise of ISIS and the terrorist activities of Hamas. Good book to listen to on the road.

Great read.

The author talked more about Hamas than ISIS, but it was a great read nonetheless.

What was most disappointing about Jay Sekulow’s story?

US and Israel are the heroes, the international left (who ever they are) are the bad ones and the extremist Muslims must die.

How could the performance have been better?

He should have stopped the story before starting with the Hamas part. He should stop watching Fox

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

The mention of ISIS/ISIL or IS (Idiotic State) have chemical weapons, gain from Iraq. Since 2003 US led coalition forces search Iraq for WMD, and found nothing. Now some Jihadist invade Iraq, and find them in les than a year?? And where is the ISIS M1A1?

When democratic nations put their own soldiers on trial, for committing war crimes, we do that because we are free democratic nations. If we don't charge our owns if they commit crimes, we are no better than the foe, and will become like them. Remember, You are innocent until proven otherwise.

totally biased yet somewhat informative.

If your a pro war conservative this book is for you. If like me you are a moderate who believes that ISIS and all forms of terrorism should be wiped from the face of the earth, but also thinks understanding the situation from all sides and attempting to find the best possible solution for peace is the answer, look elsewhere. All who wave the black flag of ISIS should die, the best way to achieve victory is debatable. I'm all for any level of combat against this foe, this book is for the highest level of combat. Not a lot of real insight other than empowering the Kurds which I agree is a very good idea. Hailing Israel as a completely innocent victim is probably its largest flaw, it's anti-Palestinian rhetoric would hold much more water if a fair account of both sides failures and attitudes was present. The info on laws of war was interesting and the only aspect that made it tolerable.

Pure Garbage!

This book should have been titled, "The Threat of Hamas on Israel." I've never been so disappointed in an audio book!

Not a good background on ISIS

If you are looking for a good background and explanation of the actual rise of ISIS and people involved, this is not it. This is very light on the facts and details of ISIS and instead goes through other subjects such as Hamas, Israel, and the laws of war to paint a picture for a very right wing political argument, such as can be found nightly on Fox news or another conservative outlet.

If you are looking for a political argument this is the book, if you are looking for facts, background, and detail, such as other terrorist background books, you will be sorely disappointed as I was.

What could Jay Sekulow have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Be up-front that he is writing a pro-Isreal, anti-UN, right-of-center polemic about the evils of militant fundamentalist Islam in Iraq and the Levant. I'm sure there are people who would buy. Don't sucker me in with a title like "The Rise of Isis," steal my money with such false-advertising, and then subject me to a 3 hour rant of which 2 hours deals EXCLUSIVELY with the evils of HAMAS and the injustice inflicted on Isreal by the leftist global conspiracy.

What didn’t you like about Jay Sekulow’s performance?

The fact is, my political inclinations are not fundamentally divergent from Jay and his institute. I don't NEED him screaming in my ear that our withdrawl from Iraq and Afghanistan was premature. I don't NEED him telling me that HAMAS is a ruthless terrorist organization. I certainly don't need him to spend time listing off, like some macabre series of power point bullets, summaries of the atrocities committed by ISIS. They're bad guys. I know. That's why I'm looking for more information.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Rise of ISIS?

I would have kept the 5 minutes dedicated to the rise of Al-Baghdadi.
