Publisher's summary

You don't have to listen to the Consequences series to enjoy this stand-alone novel, but if you know Tony Rawlings, you know that disappointing him isn't an option. Imagine being his youngest daughter. Imagine telling him the unimaginable....

"Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it."

Sometimes ideas find you, and dreams begin as nightmares. Sometimes the truth that has been kept hidden is the key to opening a door you never knew existed.

"You might not know me. I'm the baby of the Rawlings family, the princess, the daughter who came along later. I'm not like my older siblings, successful at everything they touch. My mother and father have provided me with every luxury as well as their unyielding love and support, but I'm not spoiled. I'm also not content. By example, my parents have shown me how love should be. I don't know their past, and that doesn't matter. I know what I've seen - two people devoted to one another.

I don't believe that I'll ever find that kind of love, the kind that forgives and accepts all. And as my life falls to pieces and I travel to visit my family to face their disappointment, I'm not even looking for it.

I'm looking for an escape...from my life as a Rawlings...from the pressure to achieve and not let others down. I dream of the time I can live for my own desires without the expectations that come with my name.

I don't find what I'm seeking...it finds me. Or should I say...he finds me.

This time is different. I have a family who will search for me and find the answers. Little do we know - any of us - that my father set my journey into motion long before I was born."

"Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects." ~Dalai Lama

Please enjoy this Consequences novel along with special appearances from your favorite Consequences characters.

The Next Generation...

+While this book is not reliant upon reading the others in the Consequences Series, I think it is appreciated more having read the others. If one has the background of the relationship of Claire and Tony, you understand more the characters and reasonings for decisions in RIPPLES.

I urge you to read the publisher's summary, on each book, for more details, as I'm afraid adding to it may it inadvertently reveal spoilers.

This is NOT the psychological thriller that the original CONSEQUENCES is. This is a full out dominant/submissive tale. I do not care for books with this premise – especially... grrrrrr, I cannot think of a way to communicate what bothers me without spoiling.

I was happy that Althea Romig lengthened the series – to the next generation, even though this particular installment was not for me. I do hope that Audible publishes/records further books.

This book was narrated by Eric Rolon and Kylie Stewart. I found both to be great voice performers.

Left me Hanging

This book is advertised as a stand alone book. It IS not. There are portions of the book that would make zero sense if you have not listened to the consequences series. But I was most disappointed by the abrupt ending, leaving you to wonder what really happens to Natalie. It is puzzling. Don’t waste your time with this one.

Very big disappointment!

There was no real ending to this book. The daughter was a worse fool than her mother and I didn't think that was possible. I am so mad that I spent my expensive ass Audible credit on this book! Pure rubbish!

DARK

I really enjoyed Romig's novel that are not DARK. Then I tried two dark novels. I just did not feel entertained. If you like a good novelist with Dark plots, then this is for you, just not me.

Gotta Love Aleatha Romig

I am a dedicated Aleatha Romig fan.  I went to see when I first read her and low and behold, 3 years ago on November 6, 2013, I purchased Consequences.  I have since read every book she has ever published.

The Consequences series is high on my list of favorites.  Dark and twisted has never been my normal read, but when Aleatha Romig writes it, I read it and love it up.   You can read this book as a standalone, but you are so missing out on the amazingness of Tony and Claire and their unique story.

This book had the darkness I love, the twists and turns too.  Natalie and Dexter have a relationship that will mirror her parent's lives. Some serious Stockholm syndrome going on here and Natalie falls, hook, line and sinker.

"Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

Nat, aka Bug, should have listened to those words the moment Dexter spoke them.

The story as a whole was interesting and kept me listening and reading.   My only concern was that it went too easy for me, to see Natalie acquiesce so easily was just too hard to swallow at times.

The ending seemed incomplete, I want more.  I want to see the dynamic between Tony and Dexter and Natalie's entire family.  So I will hold out some hope that maybe, just maybe Aleatha Romig has another novella, short story or full-length book about this family ruminating in her brain as we speak!

The audible - I enjoyed the narrators, the male narrator, Eric Ronlin was on point on for me for the male voices.  His "evil laugh" is so perfect that it could be a sound bite for me.  (Insert evil laugh).  I found that his performance was believable and well rehearsed.

Kylie Steward, the female narrator felt as though she was just reading the book to me at times. Not making me feel what Natalie was feeling but telling me how Natalie was feeling.  Overall, the book and audible were enjoyable and kept my interest.  Just wanted a little more from both the story and the narrator at times.

Another Masterpiece by Aleatha!

Aleatha Romig at her best!
She really knows how to write captivating stories that take hold of us completely.

This book is no exception, the plot is deep and well thought out.
I really enjoyed being sucked into the world of consequences!

Narration was amazing, both Kylie and Eric were perfection made to narrate this book.
Dream team nailed this with their performances.

The only thing that bothered me was that ending felt unfinished somehow.
There were expectations for more and suddenly it ended avbrutly.
I need more of this....Hoping for it.

Those who don't know history, are doomed to repeat

WOW!! Just wow!!
I'm in awe with how twisted this story was. This story is dark and addictive and enticing and I loved it. It has all the elements I don't like in dark romance but the story line kept me stick to my headphones late last night and at work today because I needed to know what was going to happen with Natalie and Dexter.
The narrators Kylie and Eric did a great job but the mix of female and male voices was a bit forced for me. When she was reading it felt natural, so as when he was reading, but when they made the interventions to speak of the other person, it felt forced. The rest it was amazing. I loved the softness of Kylie's voice and the sexiness of Eric's performance.
All in all, it was great.

Wow!!

I have read and listened to many of Mrs Romig’s books and this one took me by major surprise!!

I had to get used to the back and forth of two people reading in the book. Eric’s voice definitely made Dexter sound mean and evil.

She left a cliffhanger for sure! It would be nice for more story and for her to continue on the series! I honestly do not like Dexter and want him gone but then i think of what could happen to Natalie!! But Dexter needs a complete change for me to like him!! He is evil!! He is nothing like Tony!

I hope she writes more and finishes out the story!

Big disappointment

This “stand alone “ needs a volume 2! Not a good follow up to a wonderful “consequences” series. I’d give the series 10’s in all categories but not this one! I felt like I was being read to by junior high school students; not dramatic professionals. Please Aletha, finish the story!
