Winner of the Golden Spur, Matt Braun writes novels with an unparalleled knowledge of the West.

In the harsh land of New Mexico, Clint and Virgil Brannock keep a sharp eye on their ranch, the Rio Hondo, and family, lest cheats and hustlers move in. A good and fun book.

A great listen with George Guidall as performer. This is a good old fashioned western. No surprises. But a very deep story as big as the old west.

Great listen...

If you like descriptive western stories that follow multiple trails, many leading to one end then this is a good pick. Very descriptive would remind you of a L'amour where the details give you a mental image, combine that with the good narration and you can watch the story unfold in your imagination.

Best Western writer of all time

Rio Hondo is an incredibly good book. In my opinion Matt Braun is the best of all the Western writers and this is definately one of his best. Exciting, entertaining, educational etc. I couldn't stop listening.
