Publisher's summary

One of the greatest challenges facing Christians today is the powerful influence of secular thinking. From all directions we're fed a constant barrage of persuasive - yet unbiblical - worldviews. This makes it difficult to know where to stand on today's most talked-about issues.

The leadership team at Grace Community Church, along with their pastor, John MacArthur, provide much-needed discernment and clarity in the midst of rampant confusion. Using the Bible as the foundation, you'll learn how to develop a Christian perspective on key issues, including:

  • Political activism
  • Environmentalism
  • The cult of celebrity
  • Entertainment and escapism
  • Homosexual marriage
  • Abortion, birth control, and surrogacy
  • Euthanasia and suicide
  • Disasters and epidemics
  • Immigration
  • And God and the problem of evil

Also included is a topical reference guide of Bible verses that address key concerns - a guide that will arm you with right thinking and biblical answers to challenging questions.

Calling All Christians! Please read/listen to this book!

My continual thought throughout listening to this amazing book was this…This book may be the second greatest book ever written and the greatest companion to the Bible that I’ve ever read. These thoughts are from a Christian who loves to study God’s Word and cherishes many Christian authors like Oswald Chambers, Charles Spurgeon, all of the RBC ministry writers and dozens more. I just finished a few moments ago and will be going right back to the beginning. It’s that good and so needed in today’s world.

Must read for Christians

I love how Pastor John MacArther cuts through the misconceptions of Christian living. Proving once again that whatever we need to know is in Scripture. Everything!!

Great information but was dry as sand on unbuttered toast

This is a great book that helps in a proper biblical perspective in a world of liberalism. In saying that, I had to "power through" this book in its audio form. It is possible that this type of book would only be good for reading, not listening.

Strengh

This book was a great experience. It helped me to strengthen my understanding of how to use the Bible to help me understand the world and how all the answers are there if only I made the time to seek God first.

Honest, straight-forward biblical teaching!

Would you listen to Right Thinking in a World Gone Wrong again? Why?

Yes! This book is packed with so much wisdom that I will read it multiple times. In fact, I am on my 3rd reading of this great book at the time I submitted this review. I always read his books multiple times so I will not miss out on any of the blessed teachings that he provides through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

What other book might you compare Right Thinking in a World Gone Wrong to and why?

Ashamed of the Gospel, Standing Strong, The Truth War, & others by Pastor MacArthur

If you could give Right Thinking in a World Gone Wrong a new subtitle, what would it be?

It is truly difficult to give any significant improvements to a book that is so packed with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit as conveyed through this great teacher. It is obvious that John MacArthur has submitted himself to the teachings of the Holy Spirit and in turn has developed into a Godly instrument of profound biblical insight. But, to make a vain attempt to improve this great read to any measure, I submit "standing, against the tide of religious lies," as a potential subtitle.

Any additional comments?

I have read many books by John MacArthur's and I find each one of them equally profound and insightful as the one before it or the one that follows.

The reader can instantly conclude that each book is distinctly unique and independent. However, each book is a key piece in the larger completed puzzle. Meaning, each book is packed with it own wisdom and truth, and they are important keystones to the overall truth of the gospel.
