Publisher's summary

First time in audiobook form, this "lost" Louis L'Amour novel, published in three parts in the old pulp magazines during the 1950s, showcases the story of the settling of the west in the lives and loves of the riders of the Tumbling K ranch. Once again, Louis L'Amour delivers an unforgettable novel of men and women facing the raw challenges of the range land. Ward McQueen and Kim Sartain are friends and hands on the Tumbling K ranch. One will find love with its passionate owner, Ruth Kermett. The other will leave in search of a woman and land of his own. Both will have to stand up for what they want with their hearts, their minds, and their guns. This authentic western saga remained undiscovered and unprinted for more than 60 years, until the editors of Buckskin Editions found it, and put the pieces together. Includes a preface by writer Charles Lee Jackson II, plus an introduction.

A Gripping Journey to the Old West

Riders of the Tumbling K, expertly narrated by Randal Schaffer, is a thrilling audiobook that transports listeners to the untamed landscapes of the Old West. Louis L'Amour and Charles Lee Jackson II have seamlessly woven together a tale of adventure, love, and perseverance that captures the essence of the settling of the west.

Schaffer's narration is nothing short of exceptional. His voice brings life to each character, immersing the listener in the rugged world of the Tumbling K ranch. His ability to convey emotion and distinct personalities through his narration makes for an engaging and captivating experience.

The audiobook features a "lost" Louis L'Amour novel that was originally published in parts in old pulp magazines during the 1950s. This adds an air of authenticity to the story, as it offers a glimpse into the literary history of western fiction. The characters, Ward McQueen, Kim Sartain, and Ruth Kermett, are brought to life through L'Amour's vivid prose, and their journey becomes one of the heart, mind, and courage.

The preface by Charles Lee Jackson II adds an insightful touch, providing context and framing the audiobook within the broader scope of western literature. This attention to detail is a testament to the care that went into producing this audiobook.

While some might argue that the stories within Riders of the Tumbling K are familiar, it's essential to recognize the enduring nature of L'Amour's themes. The exploration of love, determination, and the pursuit of one's dreams is timeless, and these stories resonate with listeners on multiple levels.

In conclusion, Riders of the Tumbling K audiobook is a must-listen for both devoted fans of Louis L'Amour and newcomers to western fiction. The combination of L'Amour's masterful storytelling, Charles Lee Jackson II's insightful preface, and Randal Schaffer's exceptional narration creates an immersive experience that will leave you captivated from start to finish. Whether you're riding through the wilderness or simply enjoying a quiet evening, this audiobook is the perfect companion for anyone seeking a taste of the Old West's indomitable spirit.

Great book

Another great western by Louis L'amour, it's great to hear some of these forgotten stories by one of the greatest western authors.
The Narrator did a great job, you only have to listen a few minutes before you are lost in the story.

Pulled From The Vaults

I have to say, in my opinion Louis L'Amour is the king of the western writers. This obscure book is no exception, never before now in audiobook form. Like most every other L'Amour book this audiobook will hold your attention from beginning to end. Also Randal Schaffer does an admirable job of narrating. I received this audiobook from the publisher in an audiobook give away and I am voluntarily providing an honest and unbiased review.

western shorts

I enjoyed the three short old western stories, and the sneak peek of another one. They held my interest and were entertaining. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

L"Amour is one of the greatest western story tellers and this audiobook is a great example of his craft. His descriptions bring the reader into the story and into the wild west. Wonderful narration.

Excellent

The more I listen to Louis L'Amour's writing, the more I like it. Riders on the Tumbling K is more of a collection of stories than one continuous story. That's the only reason why I docked a star. Still, the first two stories about Ward McQueen as well as the followup about his segundo were excellent. They're short, sweet, and loaded with Americana. The narration also hits the mark really well. Randal Schaffer can do gruff, smooth, and feminine voices real well. Plus, his natural voice works really well for the occasional info dump.

Nice to revisit a favorite author

This is a collection of Louis L'Amour stories that had never been compiled into one edition before. Two of them are brand new to publishing. Having been a lifelong fan of his tales, especially the "Sackett" books. This was a treat.

Great western listen

I'm familiar with Louis LaMour as my husband collects his books. I've never read one, but I've heard so much about the characters and life lessons by Louie that I jumped at the chance to listen to this.

I'm not a huge western fan but I very much enjoyed the book and the narrator did a good job of bringing the characters to life.

If you like westerns, you'll really enjoy this one and if not, you may just become a fan.
