Publisher's summary

Small town mechanic Gage Jenick has been waiting for this moment ever since his best friend's little sister transformed from annoying tagalong to desirable woman. When sweet Katy Thompson kicks her boyfriend to the curb, Gage makes his move. In spite of an assignment that will take him completely off the grid for five long months, he steals her away for one night of steamy passion with the promise of more in the future.

When a freak accident on a storm-swept road leaves Katy with a memory full of holes, she can't remember her own email password, much less how the little pink "positive" on the pregnancy stick got there. She's at a loss to explain what happened, or when...or with whom. Suddenly she's got two men claiming to be her baby daddy: her redneck ex, and her long-time crush, Gage.

But what the mind forgets, the heart remembers. Still, it's going to be a long, hard ride to a happily-ever-after for two, plus one.

WTF!

How was that legal I mean seriously who the heck can actually get away with something like what the ex boyfriend got away with it just doesn't seem realistic at all!
yeah he killed his father but he was a kid and it was self-defense not an actual "(oh I was a juvenile delinquent when I was a kid and just went down the street and accidentally killed someone)"
No it was ruled as a self-defense how can he be listed as a murderer it was never recorded as a murder it's like my neighbor saw me getting attacked by a bad guy and said bad guy gets killed by said neighbor while he was protecting me we fell in love then I find out I'm pregnant and it may be my ex or my neighbors now my ex boyfriend wants me back and goes all stockerish gets a restraining order put on him so...
The ex goes as long as it may be his baby he can get a restraining order on the neighbor because the neighbor killed someone in self-defense he was obviously a danger to her and the baby really though who would believe it I know you won't!!! I don't and I seriously believe this is a total WTF situation and I will not be reading any more from this author.

PS...
Word of advice to the author I would have not been so salty over this if the couple completely ignored the restraining order and the family helped them get away with it cuz that would have been wonderful sadly enough you don't write anything wonderful so...

best friend's little sister

Gage has a thing foe his friend little sister. She has been in a relationship, so he has kept his distance. Just when he's about to leave town he gets his chance, but when he comes home she remembers nothing of their time together. There was drama in their lives and obstacles put in their way. This was a nice little quickie romance. You get a look at secondary characters you want to k ow more about.

Tatiana adds a little flavor to this quickie romance.

An obstacle course of circumstances

This is book 1 in the Thompson & Sons series and it starts with a bang. We have a surprise pregnancy, amnesia and ex-boyfriend issues.

Gage has been in love with Katy for awhile now, but circumstances have prevented him from telling her and acting on his feelings. She is his best friend's little sister and it could ruin his friendship with him. Also, when he's been single, she's had a boyfriend. He would never steal another man's woman. But the stars have finally aligned and he can tell her how he feels and see if she feels the same. He's leaving tomorrow for a six month assignment, so they only have this one night.

When Katy wakes up after the best night of her life, Gage is gone. She rushes out to catch him and tell him goodbye. But she never does catch him and ends up with amnesia and no memory of him. When she winds up pregnant, she has no recollection of sleeping with Gage. Enter the ex-boyfriend to claim the baby is his. Since she doesn't remember being with him either she won't accept his explanation. The ex is a piece of work and does everything in his power to prevent Gage from spending time with Katy and the baby. Until everything comes to a head one night.

Yes, this book has a happy ending. Yes, Katy's brother punches Gage, for several reasons, but they remain best friends. It's a sweet romance with a lot of obstacles to get through. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Tatiana Sokolov narrates this book. She has done so many of Vivian Arend's audiobooks and I always look forward to listening to her.

Loved it!

I really enjoyed this one! It pulled me in from beginning to end and was really cute. I loved watching these two find their way back together after Katy’s injury and memory loss and Gage being gone for two months during that time. This story was cute and was sweet for a lot of it but they definitely had some things that had to overcome and one of them was a meddling and over the top ex that would not leave. He wanted Katy back and had no problem lying and using her memory loss to any advantage he could find. I loved how Gage tried to prove to Katy that he was in it for the right reasons and the long haul. This story was on the quicker side and if you have read some of the Six Pack ranch series than there are some familiar faces but this can be easily read as a stand alone and I am excited for the rest of the Thompson family books.
The narrator did a great job with the characters and the story and bringing them to life.

Entertaining

Right from the start of this story I felt like I was there watching the
relationship develop between the two main characters.
Started off with them getting together before things took a little turn
that through the couple’s plan off. Will they be able to get back on track.
The narrator like usual has done a great job of bringing this book alive.

Good until the end

Pretty enjoyable story, but then the last hour went straight up frustrating with the most ridiculous made up and overly contrived plot device that would not and could not happen. It was incredibly sloppy on the part of the author and pretty much ruined the entire book.

It would have been a solid four stars but the ending was just painfully stupid.

Fan- freaking-tastic

I love this book. it's been a while since I had a 5 star audiobook and I'm loving this couple. I'm glad that it's not full of silly troupes that I have come across a lot. No misunderstandings or obsession with the female lead weight. So glad for that.

Too Short - Lots of Irony

I had a hard time understanding how Cage could be friends with the Thompson brothers, considering their totally differently attitudes toward women. Mitch and his brothers routinely beat and abused their lovers, yet these violent brothers didn't believe Cage was good enough for their sister Katy.

Thankfully Katie was strong and confident, not allowing her overbearing brothers or crazy ex-lover to push her around. Unfortunately this short story did not allow much time for character development or a complex storyline but at least their relationship was healthy and non-violent.
