Beautiful Reading

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would recommend this audiobook for both the poetry and the fabulous reading of Richard Burton.

Any additional comments?

I would always like a listing of the poetry or at least a clear naming of the poem so I can attempt to locate a physical copy. I am definitely a novice and like the poem in hand for a slow and careful reading. I also like to try my own reading aloud. It seems every audible product should be accompanied by an accurate listing of the material. I would not paying slightly more, but would like more than a quick tune on a radio or flash on a television.

An absolute gem

I dont think I have ever heard anyone read poetry like Richard Burton. His sense of rhythm and cadence are simply uncanny, as is his understanding of the poem; and then there is the voice - listening to him read Hardy's poetry and you begin to understand why everyone used to rave about him. Brilliant stuff.

I used to have this reading on a cassette but lost it - to my great dismay - so I was delighted to see it available on Audible.

If you like poetry, then you will love this unique reading - an excellent selection too. Strongly recommended.
