Publisher's summary

The best-selling memoir by France's president, Emmanuel Macron

Some believe that our country is in decline, that the worst is yet to come, that our civilization is being wiped out. That only withdrawal or civil strife are on our horizon. That to protect ourselves from the great transformations taking place around the globe, we should go back in time and apply the recipes of last century.

Others imagine that France can continue on its slow downward slide. That the game of political juggling - first the Left, then the Right - will allow us breathing space. The same faces and the same people who have been around for so long.

I am convinced that they are all wrong. It is their models, their recipes, that have simply failed. France as a whole has not failed.

In Revolution, Emmanuel Macron, the youngest president in the history of France, reveals his personal story and his inspirations and discusses his vision of France and its future in a new world that is undergoing a "great transformation" that has not been experienced since the invention of the printing press and the Renaissance.

This is a remarkable book that seeks to lay the foundations for a new society - a compelling testimony and statement of values by an important political leader who has become the flag-bearer for a new kind of politics.

Président Macron: Young, mature and determined.

Politically and intellectually stimulating. Macron shares issues in France that need to be changed for the quality of life for it's citizens. Ideas not only to modernize his society, but also to preserve the best of European culture (which he loves and is committed to). He makes bold statements and admissions of shortcomings even at the risk of sounding arrogant, yet leaving an open invitation for debate. His perspective of the world is realistic and he doesn't claim to have all the answers, but understands that solutions in society require a collaborative effort. Good for understanding perspectives in leadership. Straight forward narration, not for entertainment. - I listened 2 times

Macron's Manifesto to Frnmench People

This books is not a biography of Macron but his manifesto to French people. If you want to know about Macron's view on governance, this is the book for you.
The ideas in the book are not Macron's, but he agrees with them.

While listening to it, I mostly thought he has written this for the French people in order to

1. Infrom them about what (his) France plans to do
2. Explain why he thinks these plans are the best way ( although he does not give any proof or evidence for many of his arguments, this is not an academic journal anyway)

The narrator has done a perfect job, and made listening to this book easier.

It is not a book I would listen to again or recommend others to read ( unless they are French or connected to France in one way or another)

and Lastly, after reading this book, you can have a much more clear understanding on how Macron sees public policy and international affairs.

Pretentious, arrogant, pompous, and French

For whom did he write this book? What incredible dull tripe. Not a memorable sentence in this entire self-serving bland as vanilla book. A "Revolution" in nothingness. A complete waste of time. I just finished it and I can't think of a gosh darn thing he said...perhaps that was his evil plan?
