Fast-Paced Action Thriller

Will Slater and his wife, Jay, decided to purchase a home in a remote part of Scotland.  Unbeknownst to Will, someone from his past has placed a contract on him.  To protect his life and his family, Will along with a conflicted Inspector Dawkin attempt to solve the mystery behind the contract hit, murder, and missing money once belonging to a powerful and secretive terrorist group.

N.S. Brooks weaves a dark and provocative mystery with eye-opening plot twists. His character development is slow and deliberate providing the listeners with an accurate assessment of the plot and characters. The dialogue is rich and authentic sounding. The book is aptly named with revenge being a great part of this story.  N.S. Brooks carefully creates situations and plot twists that highlight the differing levels and driving forces of revenge.

The narrator, Nigel Slaughter is a talented voice actor.  His performance is well-timed, reflects the emotions and situations the characters find themselves in, and is clearly spoken. I enjoyed his performance and was able to keep the characters straight through his work.

Overall, this is an interesting book with lots of action and plot twists that are captivating and gives a unique take on revenge!
