As good as book 1 in the series:)

In the second book in the series Logan O'Malley meets her newly found aunts, uncles and cousins all coming to a family reunion which is supposed to be all fun and recreation but unexpectedly turns into something much worse... But as Logan is a relative newcomer there, not knowing too well the people involved in the murder case at hand, it's her cousin Rayne who becomes the new main character of the story. I like that cause it is a logical step and lets us know the descendants of Daniel McGinley and Margaret O'Fallon so much better and more intimately, coming from Rayne rather than the outsider Logan in fact is:)
The second book is as complex, engaging and surprising as the first one in the series (Murder at Mount Joy); it has everything you want from a good mystery: a bunch of probable suspects, all with secrets they don't want to reveal to the world, interesting and ambiguous characters, some more flawed than others... There are also characters you care about from the start and worry they may be wrongly accused of crimes they didn't commit and for whom you keep your fingers crossed. And you have lots and lots of twists and turns before the murderer is finally announced...
The plot is fast, the story unwinds and reveals its secrets at unexpected points and you really cannot put the book down:)

Narration by Ms Hazen is great as usual. She does the characters really well, matching the voices to their personalities. I like the way she conveys emotions, the feelings just burst out of the audio track:) A really great pairing, Ms Engle and Ms Hazen:)

Meet a Killer

A week long family reunion is a place for good food, fun, laughter and reacquaintance with almost forgotten relatives. But this reunion serves up something more. A favorite aunt is dead. At first it seemed if she possibly had a heart attack, but then an observant nurse thinks otherwise. Who would kill this lovable woman? There are quite a few candidates and reasons, but it is the killer that is the surprise.
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author, Nancy Engle, ACX and M L Hamilton. The comments and review are my honest opinion.

A Great Listen

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and extremely enjoyable. Life is moving along just perfectly for Logan. News articles about the bodies discover the previous year has reunited her with her mother's family with an invite to the annual family reunion in Myrtle Beach. It doesn't take long for trouble to find Logan though, a family member is found murdered and the search is on for the family member that did it. Well written characters and a fast moving suspenseful plot will draw you in and keep you listening far longer then you intended. The combination of author and narrator makes it very enjoyable. Looking forward to the next book.

Great Read

Reunions Can Be Murder was a great read by Nancy Engle. The descendants of Daniel McGinley and Margaret O'Fallon gathered at a Myrtle Beach State park for their family reunion. This is a great occasion that brings new and old family members together. Everything was great until a beloved family member unexpectedly dies. The police rule the death suspicious and everyone starts questioning motives. I really enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author. I loved how Kelley Hazen brought life to the characters and love her narrations.

Secrets can destroy

A family reunion turns deadly and it takes the uncovering of many different secrets to get to the bottom of things. Can the mysteries be unraveled before it’s too late?

This fast paced mystery by Nancy Engle, really grabbed me. There were enough potential culprits to keep me guessing until the end.

The narration, by Kelley Hazen, fit with the mood of the story perfectly. She really brings out the emotions and personalities of the characters.

Family Reunion

This is a decent murder mystery with great narration. It is a second book in series with many characters (Daniel, Margaret, Darby, Drew, Rayne, Frank and Logan to name a few) as it is a weeklong family reunion which turned out not to be so fun for Edna. In this book Logan is pregnant and getting to know all about the family members. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you
