Save Your Money

The average monthly financial magazine has as much information if not more. Nothing new and no specific guidance.

Minimally effective

This is a brief limited and at times superficial book and not for serious planning for retirement. Comments about trading stocks as a means of investing is alarming and will be met with guaranteed disaster for 95% or greater of those naive enough to buy into this philosophy.

Good, but a little bit US centric

Interesting, but not too useful or innovative for people that leave outside the US. Anyway, it has some good tips

Hardly “Complete”

This may be a good “overview”, hitting many of the high points, but it’s title is misleading. There are much better retirement and investment books out there. Get this one if you’re starting at absolute ground-level, but don’t stop here.

Great Find

Great find. Concise and yet full of great information. This book was well written and researched, easy to follow, read, and understand. This is very helpful in explaining and setting up an action plan to achieve retirement goals. This is helping me understand investments planning better as well. There are also easy to fill out worksheets included to help you create a plan within your budget to help achieve those goals. The book is long enough to be a great and informative asset but short enough that it isn't a cumbersome book. I plan on using the information in this book quite rigorously for my plan to live comfortably in retirement.

Good book - if you live in the USA

I struggled to rate this book. It’s not bad but it’s very focused on the American market.

If you live in the USA then go ahead and try this book, if you don’t then it has limited value. There are generic tips on retirement planning but a good half of the book is USA specific. If you’re American and want to know about your 401K, or Medicare, or where to retire that’s US friendly then there’s information here. If you’re not then there is some general advice on planning but it’s really limited to choosing the right mix of investments for your pension fund and making sure you start to plan for your retirement early.
