Publisher's summary

Cydney Hetherington is a young widow and single mother, the Director of Operations at a small world-class art and antiquities museum in Southern California. The star attraction of the museum's latest exhibit entitled Resurrection is 'The Lucius Robe', the cloak said to be worn by Christ during his trial before Pontius Pilate. This mysterious relic draws hordes of people to the small museum, including a terrorist group interested in obtaining it for their own sinister purposes. Enter FBI Special Agent Ethan Serreaux; as a terrorism expert, Ethan is assigned to the case when a terrorist group calling themselves Die Auhänger , or 'The Disciples', threatens to steal the robe.

A genius with a lonely past, Ethan's attraction to Cydney is immediately but his focus for the moment is on deterring the terrorist threat. Die Auhänger, however, is no ordinary terrorist organization; their ties go back a thousand years to the days of the Knights Templars and, more recently. the Nazis, and their determination to get The Lucius Robe will stop at nothing because a member of their group is a descendent of Merovingian kings, a man they intend to crown as the next Holy Roman Emperor with the acquisition of The Lucius Robe. When The Lucius Robe is abducted from the Museum and Cydney's young daughter along with it, Ethan and Cydney are forced together at first by necessity but then by the powerful attraction that binds them. Their adventure begins as they chase the terrorists across two continents, piecing together clues to a mystery that goes beyond the Biblical lure of the Robe. From Los Angeles to Paris to Rome, their quest leads them to the most powerful halls of the Vatican. It's a race against time for Ethan and Cydney to save Cydney's daughter and The Lucius Robe from madmen bent on world domination.

Exciting!

This one brought out every emotion in me. Laughter, sadness, nail-biting and joy. The plot was perfect!

My kind of suspense

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I personally didn’t need the last little bit. I really only cared about the main characters and not so much about the terrorist group.

Which scene was your favorite?

Any scene with Olivia was great but I loved her brave escape.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It kept my interest and i enjoyed my time with it but I had no problem putting it down.

it started well

Would you try another book from Kathryn Le Veque and/or Curt Simmons?

i dont think i would try any book from kathryn , but probably yes to curt Simmons

What do you think your next listen will be?

Dead witch walking by Kim Harrison , Narrated by: Marguerite Gavin .

Have you listened to any of Curt Simmons’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no, but the narration was well done , Curt simmons was very good at giving each characters its own voice and accent , yet if i could offer him an advice i would ask him not narrate the laughter , his laugh doesn't sound good with some characters .

Was Resurrection worth the listening time?

not that much

Any additional comments?

i had two major problems with this story :
first "The GREAT LOVE " which was mentioned in the story was only based on bodily attraction , there were no sentence which involved love without describing how her body is so sexy, or how his body was firm and attractive .Seriously its disturbing .
second : the story was full of the "WTF" moments , and generally all the characters were either naive or dumb

interesting Premise, but just no

It wasn't bad, but at the point Cydney's daughter is kidnapped - just no. The idea that a mom would just "go to sleep" when her daughter is missing is ludicrous.

And that she goes into work and seems to only " think" about her missing daughter was just too much unbelievable for me. Someone else may be fine with how this is addressed but in order to connect with a character I need to feel some companionship with them and I just couldn't after that.

Oh and asking a woman to marry you when her daughter has just gone missing AGAIN, yeah, that's a big WTF.

I wish this was better written as it is such an interesting story plot but unfortunately the author did everything possible it seems to obliterate it.

Incredible story of biblical proportion!

Loved my first "American Heros". I look forward to reading more.she nailed the knight in shinning armor. Now she shows a modern day Romantic hero.

5 star narration. 1 star story-ugh! Awful!

Wow, I don't know where to begin...... sigh. This was not a good story at all. I will try to give a couple of examples without spoiling it, but I can't promise because this story was ridiculous.

Our Heroine, Cydney- So your in Paris because your daughter has been kidnapped from USA and taken to Paris. What do you do? Go sightseeing? Yes, you go the Louve... she does. It happened. Her daughter, Olivia is kidnapped AGAIN from Paris (police department no less) and taken to Rome. So why not go to the Colosseum and do some more sightseeing while in Rome. Yes, she does, It happened. Daughter is still kidnapped.

Okay on to your Hero, Ethan- What man brings room service sandwiches to the bathroom of the hotel in Paris and proposes marriage? Yep our hero does, on the same day our heroine's daughter is kidnapped for the second time from the Paris police station just hours after she is shot at and grazed with bullet and his own son is whacked in the head by the bad guy in order to kidnap Olivia again. Yes. It happened. Just sayin...

(both our hero and heroine have kids from previous marriages, to clear any confusion)

Can you really clone DNA from a piece of a tooth (supposedly Jesus's tooth) and implant that cloned DNA it into 15 year old virgin girl's egg to get her pregnant? This is our plot..Just sayin...

Okay this a a good one. We get a Tammy Faye Baker character (her real name is Coral, but her character is totally a Tammy Faye Baker) in our story. Who happens to be the person who initiates the kidnapping and takes Olivia out of the USA to Paris. What happens when the FBI catches her? Well if she will tell them where Olivia is they will unfreeze all her assets and let her go.. But Tammy Faye Baker character wants something else........ (drum roll) she wants Ethan our hero in the package. LOL so what does he do to get her to confess where Olivia is?? (double drum roll) he has everyone leave the interrogation room turn the cameras off and strips for her, right there in the interrogation room Yep, It happened.. She confesses all! They find Olivia. HEA

Oh there is an epilogue.. But not a snowballs chance in Hell I would even consider reading\listening to the next book. Sorry.

Yep that is this story. I am not kidding at all. Fact!

As for the narration, Curt Simmons did a great job. A performance rather than a narration. Everyone had their own distinct voice. The women sounded like women. He would, yell, chuckle, laugh, whisper, etc.. as the story called for it. Very good reading voice too. I would listen to him again for sure. Just not anymore in this series.

This is my 5th Kathryn Le Veque book and after reading The Dark One: Dark Knight, it is hard to believe the same person wrote this story. So far nothing has compared to The Dark One, but this one was just ludicrous. Seriously. save your money credit and time.
