Publisher's Summary

Rowen the Restless is one of the bastard triplets of King Edward III. At birth, the king ordered them killed, fearing the superstitions of triplets being evil spawns of the devil who would only bring him bad luck. However, someone didn't want the babies to die, and the boys' lives were saved in secret.

Now, over two decades later, Rowen and his brothers, Rook and Reed, are out for vengeance on the man who sired them and wanted them dead. Finally finding out the truth of being the English king's bastards on the night of Burnt Candlemas 10 years earlier, the young boys' lives changed drastically as they were split apart in the turmoil that devastated their homeland of Scotland. Being stolen and raised by pirates, Rowen now commands a ship and works with his brothers who live in the crypts and the hills, to steal from the king and bring the riches to the Scots instead. No one knows that the legendary Demon Thief who manages to always disappear before he is caught, and who can even change his hair color from blond to red to black, is not one man, but three brothers, each with a small army of their own.

Lady Cordelia of Whitehaven is a young widow who wants nothing more than to have children. She happens to end up in the wrong place at the wrong time and before she knows it, she's been taken captive by a pirate who has stolen her dowry that she plans on using to convince the king to let her marry a new husband of her own choosing. The sea captain is handsome and exciting, and protects her from being ravaged by his crew. While he's mysterious, Cordelia realizes he is very restless and has deep, dark secrets that disturb him. She hopes to uncover the secrets of the restless sea lord because she sees a noble man trapped inside, making him more of a prisoner than she.

Restless Sea Lord

"Legendary Bastards of the Crown" is book one in an exciting new series by Elizabeth Rose! It's a fast paced romance dabbled with tragedy, romance, humor and suspense. I also bought and listened to the audio version narrated by Brian J. Gill. I love the way he is able to bring the characters to life with his narration skills. I would give the book 5* as well as the narrator 5*. Well worth the money for such an awesome experience.

Restless Sea Lord

Rowan having been born a triplet, believed to be a bad omen, was wisked away by his aunt after his mother died giving birth. She did so because his father the king was going to kill all three babies.
I loved how he was raised by his aunt and her husband up until the husban decided to let it slip that they weren't their actual parents. When he ran to fight his real father he ended up with a pirate. all three brother's being raised separately..
Rowan ran the sea and instead of keeping the goods for himself he gave it to the people of Scotland. He fell hard for Cordelia and he tried his best to protect her from his men on his ship.
In the end I loved that he got what he alwsys wanted the HEA.

This Sea Lord is a tad salty... and I love it!

Lots of intrigue, miscommunication, adventure and a healthy dose of romance! Rowan is the first of the triplets to have his story told... I'm looking forward to the rest! As always, use headphones for the bedroom scenes if children are present 😉

Yes, it is exciting and interesting.

Any additional comments?

Rowen was the triplet brother of Rook and Reed. This one has many twist and turns. Lady Cordelia kept him on his toes. The narrator did a great job.

Romantic series starter

This first book in the Legendary Bastards of the crown series delivers on its promise as the first royal offspring, who seeks his fortune upon the sea, finds a greater treasure -- the love of a remarkable lady. But at what price?
Elizabeth Rose delivers all the feels and whets readers' appetite for stories yet to come.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

A fantastic and adventurous story

There's never a dull moment with this story and your entertained to the end. There are so few authors that take the challenge of writing stories containing multiple birth children. Elizabeth has done a fabulous job not only with the concept but woven a wonderful plot and story line with it all. Your captivated from beginning to end. I wish more authors would take up the challenge like she has.

A good read

This is a fast paced story full of adventure and action. It focuses on Rowan, one of the king’s triplet bastards and his meeting with Lady Cordelia. They have an attraction but think nothing can come of it as she is a noble and he is a pirate. It also explains how the triplets were separated and what they have been doing since being reunited. This was an entertaining read. I can’t wait to read the next books on the series

brilliant story

I love this new series. Really enjoyed this book. Narrator was ok. But dont like how he shouts all the time as though the hero is always angry even when they're making love. And I don't particularly like the female voices. They need to be a bit more feminine. But this book is definitely worth a credit. Now on to the next one.

Rowen

On the night of a violent attack on Scotland by the army of King Edward of England, twelve-year-old triplets Rowan, Reed and Rook discover they are Edward’s bastard sons. Years later the triplets are determined to get revenge on their father, Edward, not by killing him, but by stealing treasure from him at every opportunity, and making him miserable. In short the “evil” he thought he spawned (superstition that multiples were evil) would give dear old dad Hell. In the first story of the Legendary Bastards of the Crown, Restless Sea Lord, Rowen is captain of the Pirate ship and is known as Rowen the Restless. He leads most of the raids on the kings property. One of their raids is interrupted by Lady Cordelia of Whitehaven. When she overhears too much of the brothers’ plans, she is captured by Rowen to protect the raid and his men and brothers. From here we are taken on an exciting adventure. Rowen and Cordelia are in love, but can they possibly have a future together? The king is determined to put a stop to the brothers’ activities. Can Rowen come to terms with king; can his brothers? Elizabeth Rose gives us a well-written story with strong complex characters and a plot that is full of twists and turns, challenges, and romance, and Brian J. Gill does an outstanding job bringing it to life.

Restless sea lord

I have just completed this book and loved it. The narration was excellent and he told the story like telling the truth. The story is about the triplets who are the king’s bastard children. The. King did not.want these boys and instructed that they be killed. The Queen saved their lives. As they grew up they accidentally found out what their start had been. From that time they were enemies of the King. it is a very enjoyable story and is a series and this is the first born son’s story. There are the other books in the series to complete the series. Thank You Miss Rose for writing this series.
