Publisher's Summary

Wall Street Journal columnist and best-selling author Kim Strassel argues how the all-out "Resistance" has become dangerously reckless in its obstruction of President Trump.

Among the most consistent and aggressive criticisms of Donald Trump is that he is a threat to American democracy - a human wrecking ball demolishing our most basic values and institutions. Resistance (at All Costs) makes the opposite case - that it is Trump's critics, in their zeal to oppose the president, who are undermining our foundations.

From the FBI's unprecedented counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign, to bureaucratic sabotage, to media partisanship, to the drive-by character assassination of Trump nominee Brett Kavanaugh, the president's foes have thrown aside norms, due process, and the rule of law.

Resistance (at All Costs) shows that the reaction to Trump will prove far more consequential and damaging to our nation long-term than Trump's time in office.

Critic Reviews

"A rare writer who immediately recognized the deception and corruption fueling the collusion hysteria, Strassel vividly describes the 'Russiagate' hoax as well as the Left's shocking disregard for honesty, integrity, and the rule of law." (Congressman Devin Nunes)

"Fifty years from now, when historians try to understand how America devolved into lunacy, they'll read this book. Nobody's sharper, wiser or more precise than Kim Strassel." (Tucker Carlson, Fox News host)

"Strassel's courage to stand up to the groupthink of the political media makes her a national treasure. Her fact-filled reporting exposes a simple but hidden truth: The Resistance is violating the norms they claim to care so much about, leaving a lasting and damaging mark on the country." (Mollie Hemingway, senior editor, The Federalist)

A good collection of facts

Strassel's strength here is in her presentation of the time line and facts regarding the spygate scandal and other abuses by those trying to undermine Trump. Her weakness is in her characterization of the "haters" (a term that never feels sufficient) and the way she seems to try to preempt criticism by attacking would be detractors. Isn't that what she acuses the haters of doing? This book should have been more of a case against specific officials instead of a general complaint against the resistance. It's nice to have a collection of facts and to have someone connect all the dots. I just don't see why it has so be presented the way it is.

Also, why didn't Strassel just read this herself? She's a professional TV and audio commentator. It's clear that the narrarator isn't familiar with the subject matter (see the varying ways that Devin Nunes' name is pronounced).

I recommend this if you want some facts on abuse of power by the left in the last few years.

Food for thought

Author and journalist Kimberley Strassel writes that her book is about the more radical elements of the resistance. What she delivers is an understated and largely unbiased treatment of the resistance to Donald Trump. Resistance at All Costs is an outstanding book about current US partisan politics. Narration is stellar.

you want the truth...Can you handle the truth

from narration to content the facts as presented are compelling. it will take a pretty ignorant and arrogant individual to ignore the message. No partisan spin but definitely lots of meat to chew on. Many thanks to the author. you are a pro.

And Excellent Book for Those Who Want Truth

And Excellent Book but Only for Those Who Want the Truth

I have enjoyed seeing and hearing Kimberley Strassel on various news shows, have recently been following her on Twitter, but am ashamed to say this is the first time I have taken the opportunity to read her writing. I was/am blown away.

"Resistance (At All Costs)” made me think, made me angry, reinforced some things I already knew, and gave voice to many of us who needed someone to speak for us. It is so well written and the flow from one place to the next is comfortable and easy. There is so much in this book that all of America needs to know. Will it change the minds of the Resistance? I doubt it will, but if you care about truth, care about where our country will end up, it is a must read.

Lest you think this book is written by an “Orange Kool-Aid Drinker” it is not. Ms. Strassel makes it clear from the beginning that she sees the many flaws of President Trump. But this book isn’t about him. It is about the “Resistance” that began the moment it was clear that Donald J. Trump would be the 45th President of the United States. It is about the destruction this Resistance is causing to the very core of our Nation. The demolition of our government all in the hope of one thing to destroy Donald Trump.

The Resistance may think it is noble and right. It may have hope that we average Americans will be gullible and never see their true nature. “But all the hope in the world can’t change the facts that this [has] never been anything more than the co-option of our democratic institutions to smear a political opponent.”

There is far too much in this most amazing book to sum up in a mere review…read the book. Ms. Strassel’s knowledge is beyond reproach, her facts are spot on true, her writing ability surpasses most. No institution in our country is immune from her scrutiny, Congress, Senate, DOJ, FBI, SCOTUS, POTUS, and even The Press. She informs how all of these are being used and corrupted for political purposes, then asked what we will do when Trump is no longer President and our democracy is in ruins.

Final quote: “Think how far we have come from Walter Cronkite’s ‘And that’s the way it is’. Today’s news is instead about the way reporters what’s it to be. “The country needs a fair and balanced press. Post Trump, how does the industry ever gain that trust back?”

This is a Terrific Book!

The author did a superb job of writing a book with complex issues yet presenting them in a easily understood way. The narrator equally did a wonderful job. I recommend this book to everyone, especially the doubters. Truly Eye-opening.

Very informative book

Well written book.
I have always had a very good opinion of this author and this is well written book; that gave information I did not know.
For me as a foreign born person, the question is why the Democratic Party is so against the Constitution. All they have to do is follow Nicaragua, Venezuela, Bolivia and Cuba. Yet they don’t see it at all.

I enjoyed all the examples discussed. I had forgotten many of the details because the news cycle moves so fast.

Fantastic Book

This was truly a great book
It honestly told the whole Trump story from top to bottom and definitely showed both sides of the story!
I wish the Democrats would read this book (with an open mind, to know the truth) because it is so there truthfully told. No lies!!!

AMAZINGLY DETAILED AND ENLIGHTENING

This book unravels and elucidates the complex events that have been orchestrated by the “resistance” since Trumps decision to seek the presidency . Many , many untold stories are revealed. This is not a sycophantic defense of President Trump, rather, it is an extensively researched expose’ of the attempts by some to deny America a duly elected leader.
