Publisher's Summary
It was a kiss to kill for....
Brandy Alexander’s the real deal. Yes, that’s her real name and no, she’s not a stripper, but her best friend Julia is. Brandy still lives with her parents in the Irish Channel and she’s sort of semi kind of engaged to the boy next door, who’s one of New Orleans’ finest. In fact, Dante, the BF, is such a thoroughgoing New Orleanian he always manages Mardi Gras parade duty on his own block. So you'd think Brandy might be a little self-conscious when a suave smoothie in one of the gentlemen’s walking clubs mesmerizes her into a big fat Mardi Gras smooch right in front of him. But not a bit. Because after all, it's Mardi Gras, and also for another good reason: “That kiss was long, slow, hot, unlike any kiss I’d ever had in my life.”
A first date that gets bloody...
She makes a date to meet Mr. Good Kiss after the parade (Yes! Right in front of Mr. Right Next Door) but she arrives just in time to see him get shot, but fortunately not shot dead. Before he passes out, he pulls her close and whispers, “Save Isabella.”
Wall Street Journal best-selling author Colleen Mooney delivers a zany, offbeat thrill ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat. You’d think a mystery that begins with an eligible man taking a bullet might be a bit dark, but Colleen Mooney has something else in mind, something like a screwball chase all over town, from Lee Circle to the Lakefront, with a stop at Charity Hospital, and finally to the French Quarter’s favorite gay dance club, at all times accompanied by Schnauzers, one of them named Geaux Cup.
In Colleen Mooney’s funny, romantic, delightfully meandering cozy mystery, you gon’ have a authentic New Orleans experience, dawlin’! And a wild ride into the bargain.

LOL
I just finished listening to Rescued by a Kiss, the first book in the New Orleans Go Cup Chronicles series. OMG! I loved it. I haven't laughed out loud at a book since I started reading and collecting Janet Evanovich books quite some time ago.
Brandy Alexander, family, and friends parallel the Stephanie Plum series in regards to enjoyable, wacky characters, outrageous humor, and one misadventure after another.
Mardi Gras in New Orleans is full of parades as well as mysteries and could not be more entertaining.
I can't remember the last time I was this excited about reading/(listening to) an author's entire series.
I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Love at first Kiss
Rescued by a Kiss is Book 1 in a New Orleans Go Cup Mystery by Colleen Mooney. The story opens with a backdrop of Mardi Gras parade. Brandi Alexander is drawn to a handsome man with paper flowers. In true New Orleans fashion, they kiss; and, what a kiss it was! This begins a wild few days. Mr “good kisser” or Jiff is shot, Brandy saves Jiff’s Schnauzer, Isabella, all while running from very bad guys. Alyson Krawchuk did a fabulous job of bringing the book to life. Rescued by a Kiss is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Get some coffee or drink of your choice and settle in for an enjoyable audio escape.

Family plus Furry & Funny Friends in NOLA
If you’re ready for a raucous read with a zany cast this book is for you. The flirty female lead Brandy is one happy, hyper, hilarious lady living in New Orleans. Add in Mardi Gras with a dose of murder full of her foolish family & friends to make this mystery marvelous! Not a moment passes without these crazy characters creating chaos. Uncertainty about the status of her relationship with her main man plus an unexpected kiss with a sexy stranger creates complications in her love life too. The wonderful addition of her fostering & rescue of special schnauzers weaves a trail throughout the story. I’m definitely looking forward to more love & laughs in this series.

This audiobook kept me in stitches. It is a light hearted mystery story sort of. Are you curious yet? Dogs, stolen car, a Kiss at a parade, and some very funny people will keep you laughing the entire story. The narrator is excellent. I highly recommend this audiobook.

Rescued by a Kiss
Wow, what a fast paced cozy mystery. It’s Mardi Gras, and Brandy finds herself caught up in quite a predicament and it all started with a kiss.
Colleen Mooney does a great job describing the locations and everything that is going on. I honestly felt like I was back in NOLA!
Alyson Krawchuk’s narration was entertaining. Great accents. My one complaint would be the long pauses between the chapters. I had to keep checking to make sure I hadn’t paused my app by mistake.

A good book!
I listened to the audio version. So I’ll start with the narration. I had to get used to the narrator, but that’s always the case with me. That isn’t a bad thing, it’s just because I’m not a native English speaker, so I have to pause it every now and again at the start. But then I got used to it and it was good. I’d have liked it even more if it were a little more natural. But the accents were done well. 4 stars seems to me to be fair.
Then the story itself, because that’s what it’s all about after all! It’s mostly rom com with a bit of mystery thrown in. There were many things to love. The lightheartedness, the pace, the fun. The quirkiness! I can always appreciate a bit of quirk. But maybe it was taken a little too far at times, to the point where it got hard to believe. But it was well written and humorous! So, I believe that once again, 4 stars are fair.
Al in all I can honestly say that I would recommend this!

Rescue this book by listening to it
I enjoyed this book. New Orleans is a bright and colourful place and the perfect setting for this cozy and fun mystery to take place in.The author did a really good job writing the story and it was so easy to picture the setting or the costumes because of it. But it wasn't just the scenery that captured the imagination as I liked the characters and couldn't help but laugh at some of the antics they got up to. The mystery was good as well and I can't wait to start the next book. Move over Stephanie Plum there is a new girl in town and she is ready to party.
Brandy is attending the Mardi Gras parade like she has done for as long as she can remember but she wasn't prepared for the kiss. You have to kiss one of the gentlemen in the walking parade in exchange for a paper flower, a tradition every body is happy to comply with but when Brandy gets singled out by one man in particular she gets more than she bargained for when there lips met. He asks her to meet him at the end of the parade. Surprising not only herself she does only to see him get shoot before they can exchange there names. He does whisper one name "Save Isabella". Before she can find out more he is whisked off to hospital and Brady and her friends Julia back home.Brandy has never been very good at being told what to do especially by Dante, her next door neighbour, policeman and boyfriend since the playground. So she and Julia hang up there high heels and tight skirts in order to put on disguises and go under cover. They will go up against some bad guys with guns, car thrives and crooked cops in order to save Isabella before the night is over.
I liked the narrator she did a really good job with the characters giving them accents so they each sounded different.

an ok listen
This Audiobook wasn't a bad book, but I could not get into it like I can other Audiobooks. the narration was ok, but I have heard better narrations.
