Publisher's summary

Nothing and no one can stop assassin Nathan Stone.

When black-ops asset Nathan Stone took out the heads of the Commission, a secret deep-state organization, he thought he’d destroyed them for good. Now he’s gone off the grid, trying to get as far away from his past as possible. But the Commission isn’t done with him yet.

Lying low in a Miami bar, Stone knows something’s up when an alluring actress strikes up a conversation with him. His suspicions are correct. The Commission is hot on his trail, and Stone is soon forced to run deep into the heart of the Everglades with the terrified woman as his hostage. He’s the Commission’s number one target - and this time nothing will stop them from eliminating him.

But Nathan Stone is no ordinary target. The crew of mercenary assassins on his heels have no idea what’s in store for them on the River of Grass. Because the hunt is on, and they picked the wrong prey.

Repetitive, beyond tolerable.

I still like the narrator for all of these books. The actress was the most annoying character I can remember. Couldn't understand normal thinking.

Angry

Very frustrating too much anger
Stone wouldn't answer a question or give instructions without each cussing out the other!!
I had to skip many chapters to get past the angry dialogue!

Tripleheader

Began the series by purchasing books 1-3 and was excited to start a new series. I was NOT impressed with book 1 and the robotic lead character, Nathan Stone, but by the time I finished Requiem I was really impressed with transition to "Jimmy" and the positive direction the story has taken. I found it hard to believe how much patience he'd show with the manic actress and complete control in dealing with Commission's goons. Nice ending and looking forward to the next hit.

story felt like a range of chapters from the...

the middle of a book. It started from a mediocre place and stayed there the whole way with a finish that wasn't an end. I guess this is a product of authors on Amazon selling a series not a complete book. k I'll nda like a season of a television show.

Don’t want the story to end

J.B.Turner is one of the best writers around. His books are gritty, action packed, and full of unforgettable and unredeemable characters. This one is no different. Get ready for an thrilling ride. It’s even better as an Audible book.

Fast paced Action all the way...

I am really enjoying the Nathan Stone series by J B Turner. This is the third book in the series, I would suggest listening to these in the order they were written. They can be listened to as stand alone books but I think the listener would benefit more from a continuous story.
Once again the Commission (Black Ops Unit) is targeting Stone who had fallen out of grace with the higher ups. And once again he has the Commission in his sights. They have planned out an intricate take down that almost works but Stone sees through it at the last minute. Stone goes on the run taking with him a woman who resembles his sister. She had been hired to seduce him, now a hostage who doesn't realize that Nathan is trying to save her life and so she fights him every step of the way. The ending was quite a surprise as Nathan does something unexpected and kind.
Jeffrey Kafer does an outstanding job narrating.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Disappointing

You can basically take chapters 12-45 and repeat: "Are you going to kill me?" "Didn't you listen to what I said?" "Please let me go." "I'm trying to save you." This was a real disappointment after the first two books. There was zero story line.

Pick of the Litter

This is the third and final book in the American Ghost series, and it's quite a ride. Nathan Stone is a unique man with a very unique skill set. He was trained to be the best assassin out there, doing his work silently and slipping into the shadows. But he wised up to what his handlers were doing and went rogue. Since then, he's been on the run while still keeping up with his sister to make sure the bad guys haven't found her.

Maybe it was the location. Maybe it was just because I had a pretty good idea of what to expect out of Stone at this point. Whatever the reason, this was the best book in the trilogy for me. When Stone realizes he's being set up in a Honey Pot operation, he grabs the girl and runs. Now he realizes he can't let the girl go--they'll kill her in an instant. If she's lucky. Stone and the Hollywood Bimbo wanna-be-starlet slog their way through the Florida Everglades in chapters I could completely picture. Jeez, what a hoot.

Fans of J.B. Turner (of whom there are many) as well as fans of political thrillers, spy-vs-spy, and street justice stories will enjoy the Nathan Stone, American Ghost series.
