Lift Your Vision High

Vision is a preferred future. A destination. Vision always stands in contrast to the world as it is. Visioneering, according to bestselling author Andy Stanley, is "a clear mental picture of what could be, fueled by the conviction that it should be." With warm, down-to-earth practicality, Andy Stanley explores the ordinary life of Nehemiah and his God-given vision for accomplishing the extraordinary. He shows how the life of this great ancient visionary, determined to rebuild the ruined walls of Jerusalem, reveals principles that can prepare us to find and follow God’s multifaceted vision for our own lives.

In the best-selling Visioneering, Stanley builds a compelling case for the necessity of a clear, God-ordained vision for each of the roles of your life. Whether you’re a parent with a vision for your children or a CEO pursuing a corporate vision, Visioneering is the perfect tool to help you develop and maintain God’s unique purpose for your life.

Andy Stanley, the pastor of more than 15,000, knows a lot of people, and is well aware of the overwhelming and mutual desire nearly every Christian holds to find and fulfill God’s purpose for their lives. This book was written to stir these hearts and move people forward by providing tangible steps to getting from Point A to Point B. "As Christians," states Stanley, "we do not have a right to take our talents, abilities, experiences, opportunities, and education and run off in any direction we please." This book was written to provide a specific plan for going in the right direction. It truly is "God’s blueprint for developing and maintaining personal vision."

Stunningly good

Andy Stanley does an amazing job relating these concepts. Solid Biblical foundations. Not sure how you could apply it when not fully surrendered to Christ. It is a book for Christian or those at least open to believe that their vision is bigger than them or the outcome they intend.

The reader is fine but having heard Andy Stanley speak it is easy to wish he had done the book himself.

The book is dense and I found myself on audio realizing that it would be worth "reading" again slowly and taking copious notes.

The other piece that cannot be overlooked is that the author has immense credibility in walking out God given visions. The book is not new and many years later he is still walking out God sized visions...visions surrendered to God

Great book!

I loved this book. It was challenging and encouraging. It makes you think. If you feel the Lord is moving in your life in a new way and you don't quit understand what it is that He's doing then read this book.

A must read for anyone looking for their purpose.

When I purchased this book I was afraid of reading about another technical how to book; however I've found it to be a very practical book about finding and maintaining purpose in life. To me, this is an E rated book.

This book is so encouraging

I really enjoyed this book and am certain I will re-read it often. I found many quotable portions and several encouraging thoughts and ideas. This is a good book for leaders but an even better resource for support staff.

Building a legacy not just a life

Andy Stanley lays out a process to create a life that becomes a legacy that outlasts us long after we're gone. One of the biggest themes that runs throughout the book is to trust and seek God's guidance at every step. Andy lays out a multistep proceas that is more of a long-term guide than a one time implementation. It's a journey that takes constant monitoring and intentionality. Depending on where you're at in life, you'll need to go back through the steps seveal times to review as you work on visioneering your life. There was a lot in this that challenged and frustrated me, in a good way. We need to look at our lives from different perspectives that don't always run parallel to our own thoughts.

The only negative for me was the narrator's voice. He was very bland compare to Andy Stanley. If you've ever heard Andy Stanley speak don't expect the same dynamic speaking from the narrator.

This book was amazing

What did you love best about Visioneering?

As a Christian leader this book was amazing. It was not a hype fest or a book of self improvement. Andy Stanley follows Nehamiah as he follows God's vision. Stanley then walks you through following the same path in your current leadership journey.

There was a ton of meat in this book including practical steps to keeping focused on where you are supposed to be going and how to avoid pitfalls in the path.

The book is spiritual in the sense that Stanley challenges you to follow and rely on God, but practical in that he shows how to put boots on the ground and make these things happen. Each chapter had practical steps to do and things to think about.

You could breeze through the book but I advise to listen in chapters and work out what you are learning.

Brilliant advice for how to live a fulfilled and purposeful life

I would recommend this to any person who wishes to find fulfilment in their pursuits. This book steps you through all the stages of developing and executing a vision that makes a difference. It is full of practical advice but reminds you of the bigger picture that inspires us to pursue a vision in the first place. A must read for leaders and anyone who wants their life to have a greater purpose than living for themselves.ii
