Excellent rendition of Scripture text

I love having having the background sounds added to the narration. It adds another layer of depth to the already deep text of Scripture. I wouldn't use it to supplement my study, but it's wonderful to just sit and listen to. The only actor I really don't care for is Jim Caviezel as Jesus. I have certainly enjoyed Mr. Caviezel's performances in movies, however there are times when I think he makes Jesus sound weak, almost frail when he should sound authoritative, for example in the book of Revelation. In some other portions of Scripture Jesus' speech would naturally sound quiet and even comforting at times. But He is still the Alpha and the Omega, the Son of God Almighty, to whom all power is given in heaven and earth. At the times when He is demonstrating those attributes Mr. Caviezel falls short, in my opinion.

Overall, this performance of God's Word is excellent and I highly recommend it.

Minor suggestion

It would be very helpful to label the chapters. 17 parts with up to 90 odd chapters in each. None are labeled so finding a passage is virtually impossible. Similarly starting at a point, or trying to listen to a particular gospel is virtually impossible. It is possible for Nelson Inc. to label and would suggest that this be done.

I will listen to this over again for the rest of my life. This is definitely in repeat. Great audio Bible I have hard so far. I really enjoyed how it had me engaged with the way they enacted and the narration. I highly recommend this Audio Bible for everyone, young and old. it's a great listen.

Great way to experience the Bible for the 1st time

Reading the Bible cover-to-cover has been on my "to-do" list for decades. I just never could get the head of steam to to do it. A month after joining audible, I decided there were no more excuses. If I can't give this effort one measly credit, it will never happen. So I did. I already listen to tons of books on audio as my job has me on many flights and many long drives. So why not listen to something meaningful? The production value is stunning and I recommend getting it at the highest quality download. I put it in my Bose Sound dock at home and it fills the room. There are so many subtle yet fulfilling background sounds that really make the subject pop. It would be a shame for you not to enjoy them fully.

I do agree with some reviewers who would prefer the parts and chapters be labeled to find specific books of the bible. 17 parts with 80-90 chapters is hard to navigate if you are looking for something specific. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars.
