Publisher's summary

It's easy to go through days, weeks, even years on autopilot, moving from one activity to another, rarely taking the time to consider what it's all for anyway. Why did God make us? What does he want us to do with the time he has given us? And how can we find out?

In her best-selling story-driven style, Christian rocker Lacey Sturm shares with listeners the beautiful struggle of learning what one's unique gifts are and pursuing them wholeheartedly. She helps them see each day as a gift from God, find balance in their busy lives, and discover the joy of giving God's gifts back to him by using them to bring him glory.

Young people especially will love this openhanded and openhearted take on what to do with their lives, as will those who feel like they've been coasting or heading down the wrong path.

Lacey's insights are heartfelt, honest and hopeful

This book is not your typical self-help book or guide to be more creative or inspired; it’s a raw, heartfelt look at where our passions and creativity come from, why they’re there and how we can use them to love God and those around us.

Lacey reads it herself and gives additional depth, emotion and insight into her feelings and heart behind her words, allowing the reader to feel like they’re experiencing her stories along with her. Her conversational tone, both in her wording and her reading, makes it feel more like you’re having coffee with a friend than reading a book.

Lacey discusses everything from her experiences as a new Christian and her time as a touring rock musician to her experience as a wife and now mother. She shares how God walked her through those times, revealed himself to her and showed her how to use what he gave her in those seasons to best love those around her.

Lacey also shares many profound insights into her relationship with God, her personal times of worship and devotions, and her passions and her personal struggles, with the aim of sharing how we can grow in our creativity, passion and worship, and learn to live each day for God. Her insights are heartfelt, raw and honest, and are clearly all breathed from her conversations with God, hours of worship and times spent in his Word.

I would encourage you to read the hard copy as well, as Lacey incorporates heartfelt poems, songs and other insights into her walk with Jesus that are inspiring, insightful and delightfully her own. Overall, this was an inspiring, heartfelt read that brought me closer to God and inspired me to pursue him and my passions with fresh hope and insight.

Beautiful

She unsquashes the squashed heart. Lacey speaks truth and love in way that is so easy to hear God’s voice. Even my kids would stop and listen. Every Person will feel the kindness of Christ in the convicting words.

I just finished and I’m going to listen to it again...

A honest account of vulnerability that gently unravels the tightly wound soul. It is the deepest catharsis I have experienced in a long time. Lacey’s journal entries are like post-modern psalms That will deepen your capacity of awareness of the creator in everything, in every encounter.

Moved me to get closer to Father God!

I really really enjoyed this book and it's inspired me and gave me some practical ways to not only get closer to my Father, but to show love in everything I do. It's motivated me to want to be a light to everyone I encounter, Prioritize my spiritual life over my earthly life, draw closer to God through prayer and Biblical study, and act according to His will. To remember that consecration isn't a one-time thing, but a daily act, do your best to follow His will. I want to bring on Heaven Culture, with my Perspective, understanding a love beyond necessity, and letting intimacy fuel my love! Thank you Lacey!

This book is full of life

Thank you Lacey for the new book! I waited expectantly for the new book and I am not disappointed. I will probably even buy the hardcopy and read it again. I listened to the book every morning while walking to the bus and your words helped me on focusing on what the truth is and helped me to focus on not giving up. Thank you, God bless you and Well done my sister in Christ!

Beautiful end

I'm torn between crying and cheering. I love these books and I'm sad that this is her last.

Lacey is a Learner

It’s obvious to me that Lacey has opened herself to life experiences and God and that she is also a person who is willing to examine herself and learn from her experiences and listen to God leading her. As someone myself who is beginning my adult life living away from my parents and having more of my own freedom and decisions to create my own experiences and honor God as my own unique individual, I value her insights.

Buy this book!!

I’ve been a fan of Lacey, and Flyleaf for years. I remember hearing, “All Around Me” for the first time - musical goosebumps going up and down my body. I was in awe, and this book made me in awe, once again. Knowing that these journals, and hardships helped inspire these songs, is just amazing. Seeing how much God used Lacey, just gives me so much hope. Anyone struggling with depression, suicide or just being luke warm will really appreciate this book - even more. Such a great read, and I left feeling so inspired!!

Beautiful

This book is beautifully written. I had to stop and fall at the feet of Jesus. So much vulnerability, I love it! Lacey’s relationship with the Lord is so sweet
